Newcomer here, I entered the code into my DSATM but it said the cheat file could not be opened. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

ok so i really wanna play this game (btw i use a dstt) but...
nothing is working. i've tried with the latest firmware, i tried using the cheats but it still freezes
and when i try a patched rom it just goes to a blank white screen.

Any help?

I seem to have a bit of a problem with this game too. I'm using the R4i flash cart. I've tried the anti-piracy code and used the patched NDS file to no avail. It still "freezes" when the bolt of lightning jumps from one portal to the other when Marle hops in. lol Thought it was a .nds file problem 'til I did a little research. Still can't get passed that one part though. Looking forward to playing it.

I'm not understanding how to enter this cheat into desmume.
Can someone please walk me through it? :/

Thank you

1). File -> Open Rom... -> (Pick your ROM)
2). Emulation -> Cheats -> List -> ["Cheats list" window]
3). Click the Action Replay button -> ["Add Action Replay code" window]
4). Paste your AR code and give it a description, then click Add button
5). Repeat Steps 3~4 for each code you want
6). Here's the tricky part... on the "Cheats list" window, press the SAVE buttonIf you get a "Can't save cheats to file." error:

Go Config -> Path Settings -> Cheats and make sure your path is set to a folder you can write to, like your DeSmuME folder.
If your DeSmuME folder is inside C:\Program Files (i.e. C:\Program Files\DeSmuME 0.9.6\) then you should move the whole folder outside because UAC in Windows Vista/7 prevents non-admin elevated programs from writing to anything inside C:\Program Files.

This feels... old.

Very old.
This thing has been Necro'd and Re-Necro'd so many times... almost as much as the (J) version. Probably pretty close to the Phantasy Star 0 (J) one too.

Are you maybe using the (J) or (E) versions?

I have the (J) version myself since you can play in English and I never bothered re-downloading it.

Hey i don't know if this has been asked cause i was too lazy to read through the entire board (sorry you can yell at me) but i'm playing chrono trigger with a patched rom that gets me past the first time travel and cathedral however when i go back to the kingdom of zeal for the second time and fight against lavos and destroy the mammon machine and schala sends me back to the surface, the game freezes when lavos emerges from the ground to destroy zeal
does anybody know whats wrong? or like tell me how to fix it? im using an R4 with the latest TTDS menu and im sure that i have the cheat enabled any help would be greatly appreciated
THX!

First of all, you shouldn't need the cheat code. The AP was fixed ages ago. The game should work completely clean.

Now, you have two options. Option 1 is try the clean ROM and see how that works. If it freezes the same, back up, format, and add fresh firmware files back onto the MicroSD card.

Option 2 is to try the (J) ROM (which has full English). I'm not sure the (U) save will work on that though, so try to get the (U) ROM working.

Firmware is what gets updated on the DS to block cards and add fixes/features (example: 1.3, 1.4, 1.4.1)
It is also what gets updated on the internals of the card itself as well (ak2ifw_update_141.zip) usually to bypass the block.

I just tried a (U) save from GameFAQs.com on my (J) version and it worked.

All these links are dead. I have a working one if anyone is interested, but I am not allowed to post links because I am new.

What links? Also, you necrobumped a 10 year old topic, where the last post was made 7 years ago. Don't do that.

I have looked all over the place for a fixed chrono trigger rom. All the download links for fixed rom on this thread are dead. I figured it would be better to necrobump than to make a redundant thread. I can't be the only one out there still looking for chrono trigger.

Try this tool: http://www.ds-scene.net/?s=viewtopic&nid=11056 Remember to use a clean ROM.

Edit: If you're looking for a backup of the AP Database, look here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/backup-of-ds-scene-rom-tool-ap-database.472348/
Another edit: Here's the latest version of the tool: http://gbatemp.net/threads/repack-d...ild-1215-includes-cmp-and-ap-database.477193/
