Gaming chipped 360

Well as stated above I recently had my 360 chipped, and I have two questions:
1. Will updating the xbox effect my chip?
2. Can I use dlc with my chipped xbox?
(Can't really find any info on modchips for the 360

)

there are not any modchips (i mean, there were, but they are all outdated). you want to flash your drive firmware instead. there are a few threads in here for guides and people asking for help about doing it.

as for dlc, you can use it.

check if your 360 is jtaggable before you do anything, though. can't go online, but they are hard to come by and the benefits of having a jtag overlook no xbox live.

Well I already had it done, and they assured me it would be done through a chip (had to make a choice between a steatlh or non stealth chip too for that matter). And I'm pretty sure it's not JTAGgable.
Still how would I go about that DLC then?

By the sounds of it they've simply flashed the DVD drive, no mod chip.

Ah well, either way would be fine ('twas a present from my brother after all). But can they see that if I were to go online to get the dlc? (as in entering the market place, not playing a copied game online).Oh and will an update effect the flashed drive?
