Hi I bought a chipped Wii for some time ago and after a wile I downgraded the wii to play newer games.

Now when I look it seems that everyone is using softmod, some games is even harder to get working with chip it seems.

1. Can I/should I go for softmodding and use USB Loading (which seems nice)?

2. If so can I use any of your easy guides on this site to upgrade or is it a specific one for my needs?

I have tried to find this info on the forum without success, sorry if double posting.

Okey then Ill go for softmod.

So I have to upgrade to 4.2?
If not, are there any benefits to upgrade?

I have read to sticky post where one, the first is tellin to upgrade and another post tellin not to.

Regards

if u upgrade via Nintendo, its a pain in the ass to get things workin how you like again

if you update using homebrew i.e via WADS etc then its all good

and you can install BootMii as boot2 seeing how you have old consoles, this is basically 100% brick protection

you don't even say WHAT chip it is how are we supposed to know it's out of date! and anyway sometimes it's better to use the chip to play some games like MPT for instance.

chips wont help you with usb loading, so it's really irrelevant.

usb loading is so nice. no more scratched discs needing reburning. no more hunting for games and changing discs.
