Im new here please be patient with me ><"
i been reading about 3DS charging thingie, i will get my 3DS XL (U.S) soon.
problem is i live in the middle east we have 220V here so im so scared i'd fry the system and am alittle confused about the chargin well look i also ordered the official u.s 3ds charger cuz ppl said there is no charger included in the 3DS XL verison anyway i only got the U.S charger :C and itll fry system i bet it will if i dont use the (power converters) which are bulky ugly heavy.
so question is the european DSi Charger which is actually 220V is it gonna work on the U.S 3DS System with no issues i mean system is 110V right so how will it work ?

here is what i bought from here*the links* .. will it work ? the shop owner showed me he could charge the 3ds with it no problems but what do u guys think ?

3DS XL in the US comes with a charger but it will be 110V. The European charger is 220V and will work fine with your 3DS. I'm using a 220V Singaporean charger with my 3DS XL from the US.

The reason it works is that the input is different for each charger but the output to the 3DS is the same.

Aren't the 3DS XL chargers switching ones? Every charger I have works from 110-240V...
Check what the voltage information on the charger itself says. Your US charger very likely supports 220V.

Try reading the packet in the photo you posted, it says 100-240V. So anything within that range is fine. You may need a plug converter to fit the wall socket but you won't need a transformer. As that adapter is for DS/DSi I can't say whether or not it will work with the 3ds. Aren't they shaped differently? I know mine are (Japanese versions of DSL and origingal 3DS here)

As far as I know the DSi charger is the same as the 3DS one, so it should work.

yes 3DS and DSi are the same, always when nintendo send me a 3DS it states 3DS/3DSXL as 1 items and its always DSi Charger as a separate item

The charger you bought should work but the official one that comes with the 3DS won't work.

I'm going to the UK for a year in september and I was wondering how easy I'd be able to find a official charger there. Does any of you guys know?
Or the Dealextreme ones are reliable?

    pretty easy I'd guess
since the XL is sold without a charger most shops selling 3DS' should have them too

The 3DS actually takes 5 volts DC for charging so you can just use a USB charging cable and your laptop (if you have one). However keep in mind that they might do an IP address check so you might not be able to access the eshop or do anything online while you are over there.

So I won't be able to access the eShop? @@
And I'll get a charging cable too, thanks for the idea.

No I don't think so. I'm in India and I can access the USA eShop just fine.

I've been using a 220V charger here and it has been fine
The included charger works as well, it didn't fry my 3DS or anything.
And what bowser said is pretty spot on.

Just grab a USB charge cable for the XL. they're cheap as chips, and work perfectly fine worldwide.
