He means that he'll play on a disc, not on a backup, and that he'll only use hacks temporarily to install the DLC but when he'll play he won't have hacks (sigpatches) anymore.

I guess the OP either confused the same thing or don't know the difference between cardridge and disc
Either way, the dlc should just dissapear. I'd reccomend installing cbh and hooking yourself up with coldboot sysnand cfw. This obviously requires a ds vc game though.
