It gives me the error message " An error has occured. Unable to update. The system will now be restarted" I was about to update from the home screen notification that pops up but I want to check if that's safe bc I've only heard that its safe to update from the settings.

I'm assuming you are using The Guide... did you backup your NAND during the process? You can restore it via Decrypt9 and update from there.

Which restore option should I use?

You'll want "SysNAND Restore (keep a9lh)".

EDIT: Also I meant Hourglass9, not Decrypt9. Derp.

I deleted everything that had to do with decrypt 9 and installed hourglass 9 but it still boots decrypt 9

Never mind I found another decrypt 9 file and deleted it

I didn't delete anything when I set up my 2DS other than the 2.1.0 ctr-transfer .bin and .bin.sha files when prompted to in the guide. :/

I installed hourglass 9 to start and Decrypt 9 to X which solved that problem, and I've updated successfully to 11.3, this thread is resolved
