Hi Guys

I have a problem that I hope you would have solution to. Actually my EFA Linker II, 1G versiona just arrived today that I bought from DX and I have scoured the internet for drivers but the drivers don't work. I have Vista on my PC and my cousin's laptop has windows XP on it. I have tried for hours now but in vain. Could someone please direct me to the right drivers?

Here are hacked drivers that make the English version of the official loader more readable.

http://www.efa.cc/support.html

Here are the official drivers.

Edit: Official downloads seem to be down.

I'm expecting one of these in the next few days so that's what I intend to use. They should work.

Edit2: Those aren't drivers but the loader, I was under the assumption that the cart functioned like a normal USB disk on the PC side of life. Maybe I'm wrong.

Edit3: http://www.jandaman.com/games.mvc?p=gbaefa..._code=GBADEVKIT

There's a download for a client. Not sure what it does. I'll have to find out when I get mine

Thanks Sfunk for trying to help me but i have already checked out both the links and they are useless. I don't know what's gone wrong. I am trying to charge my EFA-Linker II up for 8 hours before trying to install it. I have checked a review for my EFA-Linker II and it says that this linker is plug and play. And the very review I am on about is in fact on this very site:

I hope once I am finished charging my EFA-Linker up, it works.

I need your prayers

I just got mine today and I am having the same problem, Windows can not find the driver software.

Has anyone found it yet? These things just went on sale at DX so I am assuming that this will be a fairly large issue soon.

There is a guy on the DealExtreme "Forums? on the bottom of the product page saying that he uploaded the software... I don't know if it's infected with anything or not so download at your own risk and if you find it clean, upload it here please!

Most people are saying that MOST roms do NOT work by just drag and drop. You still need the patching tool. The one above a few posts back might also work:

Oh awesome! I'm going to try them out, i'll report back in a bit! Thanks!

EDIT: Hmmm, that's not really what I need. I need the driver software so my computer can recognize the EFA-II as an actual device. I have it plugged in right now and the lights not even coming on.

If I open the client I need to be able to tell it where the EFA is which I can't until the computer recognizes it.
Here's some more specific info:

When I plug the EFA II into my computer i get the Found New Hardware message that asks me if I want to install the Driver software. When I have it do that, my computer tells me that it couldn't find anything. I then have the option to manually install it if I have it but I can't find it. I am also using windows vista which is probably the problem. Is there anyway around all of this?

Hmmm... I thought that the software would have drivers with it, like in a folder somewhere. That's how it was done with the first EFA Linker... They probably changed it?

Oh! Thank you so much! It's working now, thanks guys for all your help. I'm going to upload it to the downloads section for the future.

I am so glad, I thought I wasted my money!

EDIT: I uploaded the client and drivers to the GBAtemp download section. Thanks to valyr for being awesome and sharing that info. I hope this settles the confusion a bit!

I have found the right driver for EFA LINKER II , 1G version. The driver is actually listed under the 512mbit Devkit but it works for 1G EFA Linker II as well. The driver works fine with Windows Vista.

Here's the link guys:

http://www.jandaman.com/games.mvc?p=gbaefa..._Code=GBADEVKIT

Open the link and look for:

Software Download:
EFA Simple Client v1.00 Download

Just right-click on "download" and save it to you computer (I prefer to save it on my desktop screen). Unzip it and there you go.

when you plug in your IG EFA Linker II, you get a pop-up window prompting you to install the driver for EFA Linker II, either automatically or manually, choose to install the driver manually and in the next window you have the "driver location box" just put the location of the driver where you saved your driver (preferrably on desktop) and click. All done, your EFA Linker II is ready to use. You will see the green light come on, in the EFA Linker II cartridge. Leave it plugged in for at least 8 hours before using it. Or if this procedure doesn't work let it charge in the usb port before even trying to install it. And by the way the Client.exe file used to write GBA roms to the cartridge comes in the zipped driver file. Just open the unzipped folder and look for "EFA_Client" exe. Good luck!

I have also uploaded this driver to this website and here is the link:

The client will recognize the card when you open it and click on "Search." It's not really drag and drop but it works.

I hope yours doesn't die like mine did after two days of use.

Supposedly, you are supposed to add it as a ROM and then turn on your micro with only that file on the cart.

I got a black screen as well but I think it's supposed to update the loader to a newer version. As far as I could tell, it did nothing.

Also, make sure that you are turning off the "GBA loader" option in the client when you do this.

Oh wow...I discovered some news for this cart...
I actually started using it and I saw that I can't flash more than 1 game cause the loader doesn't work, so I was trying some different games and I formatted the cart various times, after 3-4 different roms I tried, I decided to flash SMB3 back to play a little bit... and??? The old save was there...the save I made during the test 4 formats before!

Conclusion...the OLD client can't write on the flash, it writes only on the NOR mem, the save remains on the flash, untouchable. The memory is filling up with savegames that you can't delete.

Wtf...
