Hacking Can't access the System Settings

Well i guess the only way then is a hardmod NAND restore.
What cia game were you installing? Can you tell me..

Strange. It should ask you about deleting homemenu extdata.

I did that a couple of more times, still booting straight to the HOME menu.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe I need to flash the NAND back. I was installing Fantasy Life, before that I was installing You-Kai Watch + Update. I'm not sure if it's because of the continuous installing that the installation of Fantasy Life stuck halfway..

So wait, you were trying to install the .cia to emunand or sysnand?
If to emunand, then it shouldn't have touched sysnand at all and I don't know why it would have messed up anything on sysnand to make things stop working.
If you were installing to sysnand, could you have accidentally attempted to install a game to nand destination? I don't know if FBI would even let you do that, I know it lets you install GBA VC to nand destination without complaining, so maybe it allows you to install regular games to nand destination, except they wouldn't actually work nor show up properly on home menu, and if they are too big for internal memory then they wouldn't be able to install properly.

Also I guess maybe grasping at straws here but do problems still persist even with SD card out?

Failing that then something with your 3DS itself may have failed, idk. You could always try hardmod restore nand backup and see if it fixes it as others have mentioned above.

Hey. Does the battery time/date and WiFi signal appear on the top screen?
Oh yeah I remember that from not long ago, that was a problem with the Wi-Fi board not being connected properly anymore yeah?

I was installing the game on emuNAND. I made sure it is on emuNAND by having different theme, 4.5 sysNAND and 10.3 emuNAND. And I was using BBM (BigBlueMenu) to install the .cia. That is why I was wondering, it should not even mess with the sysNAND

Yes, everything appeared. The only thing messed up is the date and the time..

UPDATE: I tried to launch rxTools through browser, the screen just froze when after it gltched. Tried a few times, but the console just froze, had to reset it..I guess rxTools is out of the equation too..

Hi guys, sorry for double posting, but I managed to fix my 3DS.

This what I did. I was just trying my luck and tried the Hold L + R + A + Dpad Up again, the upper screen lit up halfway and froze(I can see the System Settings layout). So I was thinking there must be something blocking it right? So I tried my luck again by disabling the wifi, switched off the 3DS and did the combo again. And it works! It went to System Update and prompt saying that the wifi is disabled. Then it switched off the 3DS itself, I turned it on again, and tried to go to the System Settings and managed to access it! (The wifi still disabled). I format the system, installed the MSET and now currently formatting my emuNAND. I also set an internet connection and tried to see if I can enter the System Settings or not and yes I can. I'm guessing the 3DS wifi got messed up along the way while the .cia was installing and freezing.

I guess that's that? Thank you so much guys for helping and suggesting those solutions, I really appreciate it!

Am glad it it's fixed now :)

WiFi problems usually solve on it's own. I had a problem caused by my r4i and it got fixed after one day.

Could you now finally tell us what you tried to install there, that caused all the problems?
I think I've already mentioned it. Anyway, it's a .cia game, Fantasy Life. I doubt it's a corrupted .cia, I think my emuNAND got messed up. Long story short, originally from 9.2 sysNAND, downgraded to 4.2 sysNAND, upgraded back to 4.5 sysNAND. Guess something went wrong somewhere along the way, and now I'm back to my original NAND, 9.2.

Am glad it it's fixed now :)

I hope so too, it messes up the sysNAND quite bad though..

Pull out your SD card and put it in your computer to verify it's not 100% full, I'm pretty sure most CIA installers will stop you if there's insufficient space but it's possible it tried to install the game and ran out of space on the SD card.

Hi videogame57, I was using a fresh formatted emuNAND of 32GB Class 4 Sandisk when it happened. The SD card was only 9GB full (of .cia files) and the BBM didn't stop the installation, it just froze.

I think when I upgraded to 4.5 sysNAND, it messed up my 3DS for some reason, as I got the package from the iso site. (After formatting emuNAND, tried to system update while making sure still on emuNAND, halfway through the system update, the 3DS will glitch like crazy so I gotta hard reset it back. This happened 100% of the time, so after done formatting the emuNAND, I just inject back my emuNAND backup I had previously, guess that's why the 3DS got messed up)

But when I downgraded from 9.2 to 4.2 officially from Gateway website, everything was okay.
