After following the guide step by step on 3ds.guide to install Luma3ds CFW on my O3DS, it bricked.

It is not a full brick, I managed to use the SafeA9LHInstaller to delete A9LH from my 3ds, and it booted into the stock firmware (post downgrading from 11.0.0-33U to 2.1.0-[something]U using Decrypt9 after patching ARM9 with fast/safehax), so I'm assuming the issue is in A9LH. What could be wrong with it? I have all of the files in the correct locations [I checked.].

W/out SD card, the Power light flashes on, then goes out (confirming brick?), but With SD card, it simply loads to a black screen, doing nothing.

If your 3DS turns on and immediately turns off it means that you installed A9LH as far as i remember. Make sure you have the necessary files on your SD card and try booting again.

Edit: if this was a brick, as you think, the screen would not turn on at all and the power light would stay on until you do a force-shutdown.
