Hacking Can we make wads from installed WW/VC?

I was wondering if there is a way to make .wads from wiiware and virtual console games that are already installed on a wii.

We need to make some space and I don't want to lose games that were paid for.

I recently modded a wii (3.3U -> 3.2U -> 4.0U) for someone (I don't think they can redownload these games anymore) and they downloaded so much they only have like 600 blocks of wii memory left.

Please tell me the easiest method to do this.

If you want to save space, delete them in the Data Management in the System menu. That way, the ticket will stay behind, and you can re-download them whenever you want to play.

Using wad manager will delete the ticket, and the game will not show up as bought in the shop anymore.

I think it packs the ticket in the wad aswell

It does, but packing it and then reinstalling it can invalidate tickets.

In theory, the wad should show as purchased as long as it is installed on the wii it was dumped from, but I haven't tested it, since I don't buy games. I just have free channels (Internet, CheckMiiOut, etc.)

Since you are on 4.0 you could jsut move these games to your SD card and copy them to your computer in that format.

I used wadcreator v1.0 and ripped the games into .wads. I tried to install them on a different wii to test them
and I always get:

error ret -1020

I am on cIOS rev14 and USB backup loaders work.

Any Ideas?

Just dropping the .wad files on justsign.bat didn't work.
I have also read people saying to use IOS Downgrader. Do I really need do when my wii went
3.4U -> IOS Downgrade -> cIOS Downgrade to 3.2U -> Waninkoko 4.0U Updater
