Hacking Can I go online with old firmware?

I tried with two different games and both needed system update.One time updating wasn't required but now seems to be the only way.
There are still some homebrew as free multi multipatcher,ctr-httpwn or the same luma that can do that?

no you cannot, you need to update to the newest to play online, luma removed spoofing for online a long time ago

Pretty much every method to avoid updating are far more complicated than just updating. There's no increased risks from just updating to the latest OFW.
