Hacking Can EDGE auto-boot/boot from the last used rom?

I re-read the EDGE review, did a gbatemp search on "edge boot last rom used" and couldn't find an answer, soo...

Can EDGE auto-boot/boot directly to the last used rom? I'm asking specifically regarding making backups with the EZ-Flash 3in1/NDS Backup Tool (not wifi).

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!
