TBH, I think nintendo deserves this. they release crap games, let 3rd parties release crap games. hell. I just want XBMC for the wii already. auto chip update, and an ISO loader would be nice to cut down on DVDs, but it'll never work till USB2.0 is unlocked or somehow local network would work.

Even though they release "crap games", that still doesn't mean that they deserve to be pirated. If you don't think that you would like any particular game, you have the right to not buy it.

someone explain to me how this si a disaster, was it a disaster for the gamecube?
The Gamecube didn't have a softmod.

A Softmod won't create a disaster. It boosted the Xbox1's appeal big time when a softmod was released for it.

I always hear of the divine piracy boosting the console sales but I never saw any evidences.
QUOTE(Jademalo @ Jul 17 2008, 06:17 PM) GCOS could be booted using action replay and an SD gecko and the ability to stream games using Phantasy star online.
That's not what I call an easy softmod. I talk about a real softmod like PSP that every 13 years old could use

gamecube had a few softmods before there was a chip for it. I used to stream isos over the bb adaptor using phoenix and pso. Really shit but it worked, no chip needed. I still don't have a chip for my gamecube but can still play backups using GCOS booting it off a memory card with retail AR. Works perfectly and is really easy, any noob can do it, it's easier than installing a chip tbh.

If this comes out the first thing I'm going to download is WiiMusic, then Horsez.
But seriously, I hope Bushing doesn't release this, I like paying for games... 0__o

Having an ISO loader will not cause anymore "non-payability" then a traditional modchip would, it just enables not having to burn DVDs as well as being able to switch games without switching DVDs.

Ok, people are seriously getting at each other's throats in this thread, over what, why? There's no need to be attacking people over a public e-mail sent to Nintendo. I'm all for discussion and speculation, but there's no need to be so hostile over it.

this is probably the stupidest idea ever, :what if: somebody made a make email like [email protected] ,some crap like that email pretending to be a Nintendo technician and got the exploit from him. then somebody can work on from that. just a thought.

I don't think he'd fall for something as stupid as that. Even if someone faked an @nintendo.com, they can't exactly read the email from him, can they?

Ok wow...First, Bushing is an ass for telling Nintendo there IS a way to play backups. Can't wait for them to listen to him and now start releasing AUTOMATIC updates to avoid this. I have been looking everywhere for a way to play backup's on the Wii, and I honestly can't decide to believe this, or call it fake. From my past 8 months of searching, there has been no possible way to play backups without a modchip. So who knows anymore. I even got half fooled into thinking that this one program which costed $50 was real, forgot the name. But read reviews and they said it was a scam. I do still believe there is a way to play Wii iso's from an SD card and what not from the Homebrew Channel, or even a firmware hack that could be released and update it through the homebrew channel. But oh well, we'll see what Bushingidiot has planned. He totally just gave us piraters' away.

I'm not going to pull numbers from my ass but when I showed people what they can do when you could softmod an Xbox, they were blown away. I softmodded at least a dozen Xboxs since. These are people who aren't gamers, don't care about roms, and etc. They wanted the Media Center experience.

To say that softmodding doesn't help hardware sales and hurts them doesn't make any sense. The hardware sales will go up, but the downside is that the software sales get affected.

Well, really, there are many sides to this.

Yes, Piracy is wrong, but really, Games are overpriced.
I'm sure that Using the TW hack or HBC violates some part of Ninty's eula, but so suddenly bushing cries out, "Oh, we found a hack". God dammit he invented the twilight hack, and found multiple bugs in the firmware. Here's what i think is going to happen.

bushing 'declares' hes out of the scene (says hes pissed about this crap)
'We Are Not Impressed' finds this said exploits and impliments it in his new cfw.
'We Are Not Impressed' becomes the new bushing.

Well, that last one may not be true, but you know

You're following a crappy logic to justify the fact you pirate video games, that all what I saw in your text. Hardware sales rising because of a softmod ? But where the hell have you heard that ? For me, it's just a stupid urban legend like the "you can keep pirated files 24hours" law which was invented by pirates some years ago and a lot of people thought it was true.

No one will blame you because you pirate, a lot of people pirates here, even me, but don't try to justify it with a stupid logic. You're like people who pirates because "omg there is only crappy games on Wii I don't want to buy thaaaaat". You don't want to buy a game ? So why are you pirating it ? When you see an expensive diamond which costs, let's say, 100000000$, will you steal it because, heh, you won't buy it ?

Here, when you are a pirate, you're welcomed. So, please stop justify and just say it "I'm a pirate, and I'm proud of it"

Note : Sorry for the grammar problems

Big N says "come to papa" to bushing, they have a hidden agenda.
bushing takes the ploy and sees a rep.
Ninty gives him 2 options, they sue his ass, or he works for them (or something similar)
bushing 'declares' hes out of the scene (doesnt say he works for ninty says hes pissed about this crap)

If you're talking about Waninkoko, I don't think he could become the new bushing . He is a talented coder but never made any reverse engineering . He can use his talents on the Wii thanks to bushing - and everybody who worked on the Wii.

Im a pirate and proud of it.

Nothing wrong with it, its a political stand.

Yarrr.

EDIT: Hi bushing!
