the filesize of knowitalls dol is almost double the size of wiigators dol...
wario is working for me perfectly since v0.1 loader. so.....

Hey everyone,

I am a windows programmer and I wanted to mess around with this source code and try applying and building the backup loader and applying the fix in this thread. I may be able to make other improvements I can share with wiiGator.

My question is how can I get this thing to compile? I d/l devKitPro and I followed a nice small tutorial that worked just fine, but in that tutorial it had me open a .pnprj file (for Programmers NotePad).

Can anyone tell me how to import the source files (which I already have) and just get as far as having the make file build the project? I can't seem to find any info on this out there. I even tried creating a folder in a new project and did an Add Files where I added all the files in the source folder. The problem is that Tools -> Make still says it has no targets (which makes sense, I have not told it what to build), but I have no idea how to set it up to build properly.

Any help would be great, and I think it might help others in this thread to build their own and learn something about programming at the same time.

In Programmers Notepad, you can Start New > project and then point to the folder of the source.
I've heard on problems on vista. so better try it on XP.

This is what I was trying to avoid. I don't want 50 different WiiGator dols floating around. I posted a fix to help everyone out. Officially, my fix is not a part of WiiGator's project (until he states otherwise). Although I posted the find, I don't want credit for fixing anything in WiiGator's loader, as I didn't add anything, simply removed a seemingly useless memory write.

And does anyone at all have any information as to exactly what (if anything) knowitall's patch fixes?

It does not fix anything that yours does not fix. I am simply trying to figure out why this change that you made works for some games and not others. I found an alternative way which tells me something more of why it was causing a problem. Hopefully I have clarified this enough. Your seem to be very intelligent and I think you can figure out why I made this change.

ok I guess by now we have so many boot.dol and many wads on hand , is there anyway some one can sort all these into a list , and please when uploading a file don't name it boot.dol please , name it with the full name and aspects and the we can rename it when needed to be used , thanks
