As I understand it, fixing a ribbon cable is just about the hardest thing to do. I think the option people have mentioned before as being the only fix is to replace the entire motherboard. Then again, I'm not sure myself. Also, you don't have a picture shown in that post. It's easy to upload it to some place like imgur.com, then link the photo in your post to have it appear automatically.
EDIT: NVM, I see it now... sort of. It's hard to see where the tear is, honestly. Is it along/above that green line you drew where the cable attaches to the mb?
