I found my old 3ds xl that i had attempted to hack but somewhere along the way turned it off during updating of firmware (i think not too sure this was a while ago), I dont have the original sd card that came with it but do have a newer one. When I power on the device its just a black screen with a solid blue light (doesnt blink) and it just stays like that. What are my options for fixing this if any?

Try if you can get any Luma3DS settings.

Provide a FAT32 formatted SD and copy Luma3DS on it.
  • Latest version (boot.firm)
  • Then try v7.1 (overwrite boot.firm)
  • Finally v7.0.5 (arm9loaderhax.bin)
Solid blue LED and black screens can mean:
  • Software bricked (or CFW uninstalled after changing vital files)
  • WiFi board disconnected or defective (old series consoles)
  • Bad camera (New 3DS XL) --> Try booting recovery/safe mode

For the software brick case, without any CFW access, use ntrboot to start GodMode9 or SafeB9SInstaller.
