If he closed the lid while on 2.1 one than the 3ds went into sleep mode and it cannot be recovered. This is a MCU brick, hardmod cannot fix this.
This, we can't repeat this enough. Closing the new3DS causes an IRRECOVERABLE brick, not even a hardmod would help. Don't be dumb with your 3ds, guys!

bruh not helping here trying to help my stupid friend but lets see i am going to check it out on friday to see if it works or not
Sorry.

Im just saying that so that you dont get your hopes high and do something stupid and make it worse.

Then again,i could be entirely wrong!

Pro tip:If you dont find a good solution...

Open the 3DS:

Salvage anything,LEDS,the battery, the parts of the motherboard that arent related to the NAND.

Actually remove the whole motherboard.Do not remove parts of it (unless you know what you're doing) just remove it whole.Look up tutorials on how to do it.

You could either:

Sell the parts, some parts will be worth a lot more than others.

The motherboard might be worth the most: Do NOT tell whoever you sell it to that you bricked it.

Make sure you dont give him any contacts. So he cant tell you to give him his money back.

Also im a she :rofl2:

Just because you aren't getting the answer you want does not mean he's not being helpful.
that is true but I can't take a hardmod as an answer bc I will have the guilty of not helping him with downgrading and making sure he doesn't mess up I know that hardmod will eventually become the final answer but I am still looking for other options no matter how much of a noob I sound like(thats what happens when your my friend)

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
