please provide for us all as much information as possible. what was the crc32 or the file, what header is it showing, what size was the file, etc. without telling us where, did you get it from the web, a friend, a ftp, a private tracker, etc? if you scan the file using dslazy does it catch the ds bricker code?

http://filetrip.net/f711-DSLazy-0-6.html

you should submit the file to eset so they can make sure its been added to the virus database.

OK I got it from warez site.
file size is 58,5 MB (61 350 912 bytes)
It shows header of Mario Party DS
and dslazy says its safe.

Header is copyrighted (I think) and its dangerous file but if you want I will reupload and post link here. (Probably bad idea)

Kind of off-topic but can crashme kill a DSi? And can flashme be installed on a DSi?

well for crashme I am not sure but I really doubt it can harm a dsi as for flashme I am certain it wont work for dsi.

thats enough information to warn our users about. the CRC32 of the file would be great, if you could provide that.

please do not post a link or the file, it is against the rules of our community.

i would really appreciate it if you submitted the file to many virus scanner sites so that we can get this version added to a bunch of databases.

i don't think you can install flashme on a dsi only on the ds and the ds lite
If I remember correctly, all of the firmware on the DS lite is write-protected, so DS lites should be safe. Unlike the original ones where only part is write protected.

I'm not completely sure about this myself, but if I'm not mistaken the DS Lite has a larger fraction of the firmware protected, but still not the whole firmware. This would mean that bricking it is still possible.

I also wonder what this bricker would do on a DSi and 3DS.

Internet trolls. I better make sure to do some test on No$gba and do a DSlazy scan before downloading anymore roms.

IMO it 'shouldnt' do anything as it runs a completely different OS that hasnt been completely hacked yet. It may however mess up the DS parts of the firmware such as download play and the DS Wifi setup

Wow, time to update my Virus definitions. What will this be called, Trojan.DSBricker.Crashme.C?

Mario Party

or anything, if they can disguise it as one game then they can disguise it as another.

Be cautious when you are pirating and verify your ROMs by CRC against a known Goodset listing!

Is that really what you were trying to say?

Question, I remember a long time ago I renamed the file extension from flashme to .gba and flashed it to my ezflash 3-in-1. once I powered on, it booted directly to slot 2. could you try this and see what happens?

About the warez site you used: was it your first time using it? If not, have you had any other problem with it before? Was the Mario Party DS ROM a recent file on it?

Well, I guess this all reminds us that we will never be safe. NEVER

how long should flashme take to install? It says if progress stops, the SL1 terminal needs to be shorted.
Can it only be installed with Slot2 Flashcart?
