Hacking Bricked DS Lite

Hi today I downloaded Mario Party DS rom and tried to boot it using Cyclo DS Evolution.
It had correct header so I booted it ... and yelled OH SHIT because it was the Crashme file.
Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Should have dumped it your self.

If you don't have FlashMe installed, then there's nothing I could do to help. Probably out of luck on that one.

If you do, simply reflash your DS and you'll be good to go again.

I did install something on my DS but I dont know if it was flashme...
So I will try reflashing but I dont know how to do it.
Please can anyone tell me?

What is flashme and crashme?

Flashme is a custom firmware for the DS Phat/Lite that isn't really required, but adds brick protection and removes the health screen. A bit tricky to instal, but once it's installed, you're set.

Crashme I can only assume is a different name for a DS Bricker homebrew. It's not common from what I know, but still pops up from time to time. Having Flashme installed protects your DS from a permanent brick.

To reflash your bricked DS, hold down A+B+Start+Select while turning the DS on. This should boot to your flashcard or whatever you use to store homebrew. Run the flashme installer again and you're good to go.

I tried and GBA game from slot 2 started (My flashcard in slot 1 was ignored)
So am I screwed?

Try removing the GBA game.

Tried removing GBA game and got 2 black screens.
So I will borrow slot 2 card from friend.

There are different button combinations. I've never had to do this my self, so I don't know what works. Check the guide, near the end of it.

Do you have an antivirus on your PC? Most (if not all of them) detects DSBrick/Crashme as a virus. Trojan.DSBrick.A/Trojan.DSBrick.B

I hope you can recover your DS.

So I borrowed slot 2 card and started flashme using it.
But after pressing XBXB It said: UNKNOWN ERROR CANNOT CONTINUE and froze.
And yes I have antivirus (ESET Smart Security) and it wasnt detected.

So because flashme didnt work I tried to install noflashme and it WORKED.
Thank you all here.
Now I am without flashme so I will install it again.
But why somebody changed crashmes header and uploaded it as game?

Good you got it working again. Now we've learned our lesson. Only use files you know and trust and dump your own games.
