what has the date to do with this ? I don't know , just asking.

Should the date be changed even when using 2.0/3.3b? no one has reported new bricks using that firmware now

Well there seemed to be a save bug that started happening at new year with the clones, it's unlikely, but the fact that all the bricks occurred on the same day with some people not having wifi means something must of triggered them to occur all on the same day........only thing I can think of is that it was simply triggered by the date itself....like a time bomb :S lol sounds mad but how likely would it be for around 20 3DS all to kick the bucket on the same day under the same conditions

I tried to read that forum but the info there is scattered; however I'll assume that everyone is having the same situation: entering to DS Profile cause the console to hang and that's how the NAND gets screwed. This exact situation hasn't happened to any Gateway user.

Perhaps, changing the date of the System to anything before 2014 could fix this.
Interesting my current 3DS is on v4.4 and I made the date be January 11, 2013, and I use emunand 7.1 and 3DSLink 3.2 and I didn't brick my 3DS. But I think I am just going to go to version 3.3B

Deluxe Edition firmware 3.3b is released ! (2014-01-10)
33.gif

change log:
1. Fixed the saving issue caused by V3.2
2. Fixed the breaking card issue caused by V3.2
3. Increase the stability
==============
Did they just add point 2 ?
yes the did
between the first release of 3.3 and new release 3.3

also changed the loader (check loader size)
first 3.3 release 1890KB
latest 3.3 release 1019KB . it's same size as 2.0, because it is the 2.0 (same md5 crc)
so why roll back to 2.0 and not 3.0 ?

my advice wait a few days, and dont do anything
unless you have no problems with soldering (and a nand backup)

Anybody succeeded in restoring NAND? At least to confirm that bricking caused by flash card can be fixed by nand restore

maybe they started to break after new year because the 3.2 firmwares were released on 1/3 ??

I'm also trying to fix it but I can't get connection to work - Windows sees unformatted drive, but win32diskimager/usb image tool are giving drive not ready error and and refused to read/write.
Trying to fix it, but i broke the DAT0 spot while soldering.
Anyone knows from an alternative spot?
As far as i've read in NAND thread, there's no alternative points - you have to find connection that comes from dat0

So it appears that normal 3ds is not completely immune to this also

Will the 3ds boot with a normal DS game inserted?
Maybe you can undo the the bricking at an early stage by removing the ds profile exploid.

Well if it won't boot it won't boot, it would need to boot to the menu before you can launch anything.....it's probably a bug in the launcher causing it to start writing to the nand instead of reading from the SD slot, I would like to see what a dump looks like to see if it is like a obvious zero'ing or something

Seeing as the crash is happening upon launching the exploit it's no doubt being caused by the launcher file rather than the emunand writing anything

Although I think 2 people said there's happened after going to data management so there looks like there is 2 separate bugs happening but atleast 1 of them is avoidable.....no data managing for me lol

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
