Hello,

When I play Brawl through Usbloader GX 3, it gets very slow. The whole game slows down, sounds, movement, combat, etc.
I have to force pal50 so I don't get a black screen. Other settings of PAL still give me a black screen(PAL60, PAL480)

In Brawl itself, I have to enable or disable vibrance to stop the lag. But that only works very rarely.
It's also very slow when I enable mods.
I have a PAL Wii. And I want to use NTSC Brawl to be able to play mods.

Other games seem not to slow down on the USB.
I cleaned the SD and it didn't work.
The USB is wbfs formatted and I installed the game through Wii Game Manager.
Formatted the USB after it lagged and tried again, but it still lags.

Thanks for the help,

Oekoeloe

Same problem here. Video mode NTSC will make the screen go all disco (Red-grey-red-grey), PAL50 makes the whole game lag and stutter and all others don't wok at all. I can get it to work properly by trying to boot it a lot and eventually (after something like 10-15 attempts) it'll work, but it's still weird. (I was trying to run Brawl-)

I have this problem with vanilla brawl, brawl+ and project M.
If it does work without lag/slowing down. I start a battle and after stage selection the game freezes it there is a very loud beeping sound.

Changing the wii itself to pal50 or pal60 does not help either.

EDIT: Now it won't even load my cheats/mod again...

I kinda solved it a bit. It doesn't lag anymore but still freezes rarely.

I set the tv type in the wii's settings to pal60

In USBloader GX Settings I have:
Videomode - Force PAL60
VIDTV Patch - On
Sneek Video Patch - On
Patch Country Strings - On
Error 002 Fix - Anti
Hooktype - VBI (Default)
*Other Settings are default. (Restore by going to Default Systemsettings in the Settigns menu)

At the Brawl Start screen in the settings I have:
Video Mode - Force PAL50
Patch Country Strings - On
*Other Settings are on Use Global (Restore by going to Default Systemsettings in the Settigns menu)

In Brawl set the Vibrance to off.
If it's already off put it on and then off again.

I hope this will help others.

I do know that mine freezes pretty often when using either Mario's down+B or Squirtle's B. It seems to have something to do with the water effect, so I assume Kyogre can cause this too. And what do you mean, Brawl Start screen? Doesn't forcing PAL50 there just override the PAL60 you set in the general options, making it useless? Also, does it work every time? Like I said, mine works properly sometimes, and other times I can't get it to work without lagging at all. I'm using CFG loader.

Yes, the water attacks make me freeze too. And I just make the game use pal50. In the usbloader I set it to pal60 for all the other games I play.
If you click on the game in the usbloader list you get the launching screen with 2 buttons: Settings and Start. Go to those settings. Those are settings only for that game.
Since brawl only works on pal50 I just set it to pal50 in there.

It works on NTSC on my Wii as well, but instead of lagging the screen colors are all messed up. It never lags on NTSC and the colors are never messed up on Pal50.

That's because you have a PAL Wii, it's not supposed to work with NTSC games. I also get black and white screens or black screens when running NTSC games without forcing it to be PAL.

I know it's not supposed to work but it does work sometimes. The chances of it are about as large as the chances of PAL50 working properly. Does your Wii have a modchip?

WBFS is an ancient solution, and it's no longer relevant. Use a WBFS manager to get your games off, format the drive to FAT32 (or an NTFS hybrid), then put the games back on.
That was one of the things I wanted to try next. Should I put it on the USB as an .iso?
Or is a .rar also compatible?

UPDATE:
I tried another rip, which probably was a conversion of the first one I tried. And it still freezes when squirtle or mario use the water attack.
Can't find much on the internet about this issue. Some say changing the vibrance to either on or off. But that seems not to work for me.
