Hacking Boot 2 install question

Trying to update my brothers Wii using xzxero's guide, and the BootMii install screen says:

BootMii can only be installed as an IOS
the installed boot1 version prevents a boot2 install (-2)

This didn't happen on my Wii, but can someone tell me how to install HackMii as a boot2?

you can't he's got a newer wii that will only allow install as IOS

So bootmii as an IOS can still be recovered the same as a boot2 correct?

Unfortunately, no. BootMii as an IOS does not help recover bricks, but it can still perform a NAND backup/restore for non-fatal incidents.

I would recommend installing pre/priiloader for added protection from banner bricks and bad wad files
