Is it possible to softmod a black wii? Is it more difficult to do than softmodding a white one?

It is possible

You just follow the same steps, so it's not harder at all
The only thing is you won't be able to use Disc backup launchers -> Use USB loaders instead

You can't install BootMii, because it has a patched Boot1.

But all new Wiis do.
