Raising minimum wage would still be a progressive move today, as federal minimum wage remains $7.25, well under the poverty line. Progressive and leftist still have two distinct meanings, though. Leftist would be nationalizing banks, which actually doesn't seem unreasonable for the ones that taxpayers had to bail out.

A result of Republicans moving so far right that they dragged the Overton window with them. Democrats overall are center, maybe even center-right. The few democratic Socialists among them could be considered leftist, but they hold little sway over the party at large.
In terms of European politics sure, just like in terms of American politics the Tories are to the left of center

Fact of the matter remains in our context Democrats are to the left

Kamala and Biden calling 18-24 year olds stupid, to their faces, yet uninformed liberals still voted for them:

Do you actually look into the sources of where they say these things, or do you just believe the internet when they take things out of context?

Figures that the video you posted is from Rumble.

Weird how the left loved Trump............. until he decided to run against them.

Just shut the fuck up if you're going to post misinformation from unreliable sources.

The concept of the American "center" being separate from the political center in every other context works solely to the benefit of the richest individuals, so there isn't much incentive for the rest of us to keep perpetuating it. Long past time we re-aligned with the global center.

Even the global center has been shifting right. Much of it imported from the US. Since the 90's we've been implementing neoliberal measures that have been impoverishing the country, the major parties shifted from being democratic socialist and social democratic to be either void of political ideology or been shifting between conservative and neoliberal, we had a far right party funded directly by US money that is now the third political force in the country and a straight up neoliberal party and over the last few years here there has been a 'character assassination' to the term socialist even though we are literally defined as a socialist country in our constitution and every consequence of neoliberal measures has been scapegoated as a fault of socialism, even though they are consequence of the lack thereof.

Meanwhile, in Europe the far right is on the rise. From the return to strength of the neo-nazis in Germany (that so many people who where banned defended so heatedly when I posted a thread about the anti-nazi protests in Germany early this year to the point of having my thread removed) to losing a country to dictatorship like Hungary, to having a considerable representation of the far right in the European parliament.

And yeah, the US Overton Window is still shifted much right than most of the free world, nonetheless we need to recenter everywhere at this point. And we desperately need the US to get a grip on itself and stop influencing the rest of the world to the Right.

Honestly, it seems to be like this.

Celebrity endorsements are a microcosm of what's wrong with our democracy

Big celebs endorsing politicians actually does nothing, but it does inflate the massive egos of useful idiots like Taylor Swift
Sure big celebritys help a lot for the democracy, thanks to Jack Black "support" Biden /s . Celebrities needs to step aside to talk&endorse politics because you can fuck your career badly.

Really? Celebs? Not billionaires like Musk?

No, they need to say it out loud. I will do my little part to NOT contribute to people who actively support and endorse the old orangey creep who works 3 hours - 3 days a week and then goes golfing.

What happens if Biden can't manage till Jan 2025? Is there an immediate transition to Harris or some other process?

unless he dies, it will be the same. I mean it's been the same Biden for the last 3/4 years.

It's not quite that binary, there is a whole spectrum of degeneration between onset and death. Sometimes it can be quite rapid. Anyway, the details aren't important I'm more interested in what the protocol is if a sitting president has to step down. Also, what if it's between Nov and Jan? Let's say Trump wins, does Harris still take over until Jan?

That's exactly what would happen. Kamala would take over for the remainder of the time, and then Trump would take over afterwards as the 48th president, with the 47th briefly being Kamala. If Kamala and Biden died at the same time, it would go to the speaker of the house, which is currently that religious zealot.

The Republicans are in a panic because they revolved their entire campaign around attacking Biden. What exactly were they doing for the nation if it didn't involve a jab at Biden anyways? Now, after billions (?) of dollars and years spent, they can't lean on that anymore. Continually talking about how Biden is too old to lead (Trump is older now than Biden was back in 2020) and how he should drop, but their act was with the assumption that Biden would stick to it and give them the edge they needed. But, Biden dropped out and endorses Harris, who could be their worst enemy. And Republicans are furious about this. It's so entertaining how they are crying that they should receive a refund on the cost of their campaign. This is just desperation of a party that has no idea what to do when faced with consequences for their own actions, wasting people's money because they spent it on attacking someone rather than building up their case. If Trump did not fear Kamala, then he wouldn't find excuses not to debate against her. He got what he wanted at the last debate, so expecting more is expecting too much.
What this tells foremost is that Republicans need Biden more than democrats do. In a normal country, the leader is picked by the people because he /she stands for policies the majority want. As such, the vice president (Harris) is just the first backup person for the same policies.

Under Trump, the whole republican policy just shifted to "we' re not Joe Biden". Sure, the hardcore gun nuts, xenophobes and pro life will still vote for Trump. But for the undecided votes, it all came down to "we're not Biden".
Poor marketing at its finest. Bidens impeachment was about nothing, so it took a lot to make it a story. Same with poor Hunter's case: who the fuck is going to care about his laptop now?
