Back on topic, despite supporting rev21, you should know that ModMii's recommended cIOSs will not change in the next ModMii update (I don't recommend rev21 for most ppl yet as it seems compatiblity was reduced from rev20), so if you want to use the next version of ModMii to install rev21 cIOSs, you will need to grab the WADs from ModMii's download pages and install them like normal using a wad manager. In any case, rev21 really only brings triiforce support, which most ppl don't use in lieu of uneek/sneek anyways, so rev20 works just fine for most ppl.

Does using a wired connection count? If so, shoot me a pm. I'm more than happy to help.

are u referring to the beta test request? I think u may have quoted the wrong msg by mistake. And a wired connection works fine, the important thing is that your mac address does not begin with "00" (and the mac address is the same regardless of whether u r using a wired or wireless connection).

I'll send u a PM

I am also not getting any errors. I am looking for suggestions or maybe a fix.

Edit: I fixed this problem by changing my routers settings:
I changed it from running channel 2 and moved it to channel 11 ... I had it on 2 because a lot of of routers around here are on the same channel ... I hope this helps someone

lol, yup... I was in a rush to go to work... you sure the mac id is the same? I would think each wifi chip has their own, and each usb ethernet has its own, but I could be mistaken... I will check and report back

@sidescroll, the forwarder requires IOS58 is installed, if u used the ModMii Wizard to mod your Wii, you should have it installed... but I'm not sure what u did. Anyways, if u don't have IOS58 installed, install it and try again. But yea, if the forwarder worked with another hard drive, then that's not the problem. Anyways, I just created a new USB Loader forwarder channel based on FIX94's v8 forwarder, I'll be sharing that pretty soon so you can try that and see if it makes a difference. And re. mplayer_ce, check out my top channels thread, I have a forwarder channel that u can download from there that also includes a fix for that problem. But WiiMC is better anyways (IMHO) so I would just use that instead of Mplayer_ce
I've used Modmii to mod my Wii. I did what I was supposed to do. Nothing more nothing less. The forwarder seems to be working, at least with a different HDD. The problem is with mine... And for the life of me I can't understand what is wrong. I can run aNYTHING from the HBC. It's just the forwarder that won't load the loader.
Guess I'll try your new forwarder, see if that changes anything.... I'm guessing it won't but I'll try it anyway... If that doesn't work I'll try CFGs forwarder. And if that doesn't work I'll try GXs forwarder and if THAT doesn't work... I guess I'll have to settle with HBC loading

UNLESS anyone comes up with an idea???

Just wanted to say a big thank you to XFlak for putting this wonderful tool together. I have no experience with modding Wiis and have successfully modded three in the past few days.

Keep up the great work. We appreciate your efforts.

Hey, check this out. I think that may be the issue with some HDD and forwarders (I've looked and I'm not the only one having troubles with forwarders from USB... But I seem to be the only one obsessed with getting the apps to launch from a FWD instead of conforming with HBC launching
rolleyes.gif
)
Anyways. Take a look at this thread. Maybe you could implement something like this to your forwarder.

Let me know what you think.

Turns out the mac ids do differ, however both begin with 00, so I guess my help isn't needed

Hi!

I know everything is set out easily for people especially like me (noobs)

But i just want to confirm everything..

I have a wii with firmware 4.3 and i have bought a ton of official games..

My questions are
1. Will this Hack work with my wii?
2. If my wii is hackable/modable then will my official games work?
3. Will i lose any save data or any other data?
4. Is there any danger factor that i might need to watch out for or consider??

Thanks IN ADVANCE!

1. Yes, you will need one of 3 games depending on your region.
2. ALL wii's are currently hackable (except 4.3 korean wii's). Yes your official games will work.
3. Not unless you screw something up other than following what you are told.
4. If you can follow directions, you will be fine.

You could just rent the game, or borrow from someone that has it.

Guys, I have a HDD, it can only be Formatted to ExFAT. Is that the same as FAT32? OR should I format it to NTFS?

Basically, Is Fat32 compatible with ExFAT for the USB loader?

hey im extremely new to this softmodding stuff,
but i was wandering,

1. if i follow all the steps carefully 1-by-1, what is the chance of bricking or ruining my wii (little to know experience at softmodding)?

2. how long does the whole procedure usually take?

3. will i still need to do anything that is not listed in the steps?

4. can i un-mod my wii back later if i decide to change my mind, and want to use warranty?

5. i brought my wii maybe 1-2 yrs ago. should i first update to the latest firmware before i use the guide?

thanks !

1) if u follow the steps exactly, the risk is next to nothing (so far, no1 has ever bricked their wii using ModMii). The only real risk is the risk of power loss at the exact wrong moment during the installation/update of a couple crucial files

2) if u know what u r doing, 30 minutes tops. If u are new to the experience, it could take a couple hours

3) the After Modding Step suggests some things for u to do after following the guide, but generally, ModMii does it all (u may want to download the "just for fun apps" on download page 2)

4) no, once a wii is modded, there is nothing u can do to prevent nintendo from detecting it has been tampered with. However, the usually don't dig too deep. Read this for more info: http://gbatemp.net/t207126-modmii-for-wind...t&p=3028841
