what errors are u having? missing files? if so, just repeat the download until u get them all, its probably due to a shitty internet connection or something

mmm I dont believe its internet related. tried it at work as well got the same result. I've used about 2gb of quota trying ( no biggy there). Im not entirely sure what the error are. I view the log and cant spot anything that stands out. when I check the contents of COPY_TO_SD it seems ok. I might note what comes down and check to see if its just missing some. I save the cue and redownload but after a few times I get differing results. Maybe Im not doing some thing right. Thanks for the response - appreciate the ideas

in red it says ten errors and that priiloader hacks is missing

that only tells me what was checked, not the results of the check, so its not very helpful

can u take a screenshot of the page with all the red errors? What does it say in red, md5 mismatch or missing files? I need to know which files are in red?

btw, u are in USA, but u have a PAL Wii? Is this correct?

On the iPhone ATM. I'll paste the screen shot when I can. I'm in Australia with a pal wii. It doesn't name any files or "md5" errors apart from hacks is missing. Thanks heaps mate. I'll be more concise with the error when I can get home.

if there are no errors in red, and the only error message u have is Priiloader Hacks missing, u are fine (u don't NEED priiloader hacks to mod your wii, but its worth having)... and u may want to read THIS for an explanation and to get the priiloader hacks.ini

Hi!
Tried to create pack for softmodding from clean 4.1e to 4.2e with all possible wizard downloads.
Got 10 red errors (+ Priiloader hack error, of course).

Figured that next files causing errors:
IOS12-64-v269.wad
IOS13-64-v273.wad
IOS14-64-v520.wad
IOS17-64-v775.wad
IOS21-64-v782.wad
IOS22-64-v1037.wad
IOS28-64-v1550.wad
IOS34-64-v3348.wad
IOS61-64-v5405.wad

So, there is only 9 files, but removing them from "copy..." folder and verifying all files results no errors.
But putting them back and verifying all files results 10 errors again.
What is wrong with them?

UPDATE
Redownloaded these 9 files 1st time - got 6 errors (filtered 5 good files).
Trying to redownload remaining 4 files which results 5 errors - no luck so far.
These files are: IOSes 12, 13, 14, 28.
Receiving next MD5 for them: (removed, because MD5 for these files are always different).

Looks like WAD packer (or what tool you use) sometime creates random headers or something like it - the difference between "good" and "bad" file lies somewhere in between 00000A44-00000C27 range (+- sometime when hex match each other).

If this is the case, u can continue to mod your wii without these files (not installing these files is not essential to mod a wii, they are just updated IOSs for normal wii functions, but the ones u currently have installed are probably fine for most things anyways)

the tool being used to DL those files is nusd.exe, and it does NOT create random headers, it always attempts to generate consistent files. So if these files are giving u errors, delete them, and try redownloading them, the issue must be random nusd.exe errors (they are very rare, so it seems u r just having bad luck). I am going to get a replacement cmd line tool for nusd.exe eventually which should be more stable, but nusd works fine 99% of the time anyways, so its good enough for now.

Anyways, in the end, if these are the only missing files, u can continue without them, or u can redownload them if u want

That's very weird, if there are errors it should also specify which files gave the errors, here's an example (I purposely modified the wad so that it fails the md5 hash check)

While u are at that very screen, can u type in a bunch of jibberish (anything that isn't a real command), so that it will reload that page, I hope/suspect that when that page is refreshed it will not show that 10 errors occurred line anymore

Also, try typing in "A", to verify all the files too

As I said, this is very weird, every time I have ever seen an error, the report should list what files caused the error... I'm hoping a refresh will solve that problem and give us more info

Try to get them yourself - maybe you will end with same errors.
In the beginning I got same screen as you can see in one of previous post's screenshot (with 10 red errors).
But after some redownloads only these 4 files are left (and it displays "5 errors" in red).
It will not displays MD5 errors for bad files or anything else - just "# errors" in red.

I wonder why it creates different files sometime?
Also NUS downloader v1.3beta for windows also produces different files.
And differences are:
1. NUSD (Win) vs nusd.exe when it results red error - region 00000043-00000A07 in WAD.
2. NUSD (Win) vs nusd.exe when no errors - region 00000043-00000A07 and region 00000A44-00000C27 in WAD.
Well, probably this is useless information and these regions not affects anything.

home again now. Re-downloaded with the wiz. choices are modded wii. from 3.2 to 4.2 e. all cIOS, mmm, YAWMM, brick prot, MII channel, hackmii, BB, Priiloader and of course no stubs. I choose guide and download. select "c" for location and start. I tried "A" at the screen which states the error( I have tried that step on other pc's as well). have tried these steps on 3 pc's with xp and .NET 3.5 installed. once on Win 7. I have tried it with different ISP's one adsl 8mb the other DSLAM 24mb. I have redownloaded the zip.

save cue, main menu, load cue, try again,

after 10th time..!!!

i just downloaded those 4 files, and they all were checked successfully (no errors), seriously, if u delete those bad files and redownload them, it should work... I have to assume its random nusd.exe errors or internet connectivity issues which is giving u bad results

u can't compare files from nusd.exe and NUS Downloader, they may pack files differently (it doesn't make a difference, both files contain the same components, but they may have different md5 signatures cuz they're packed differently)

Clear logs and try to verify all files (from main menu - V, A).
I also redownloaded bad files and it give me no errors, then I tried to check them all and received same errors.

i'm not sure why its not listing what files are bad, which is why I suspect the files may fine....

Here's an alternative method to check which files are no good:

this is what u should do, from the main menu, enter "O" to go to the options, then enter "C" to create custom md5 list of all relevant files u HAVE, then enter "C2" to verify files against the custom md5 (this will tell u the files are okay no matter what but it does not mean the files are "good"), then enter "L" to view the custom md5 log, then enter "A" to verify all the files u have against the global log, then enter "L" to view the global log

Now compare the two logs (global vs. custom), check for files that have different MD5 hashes, if u notice any that differ, then delete those files and redownload them (u MUST delete/move/rename them otherwise they will not be downloaded as duplicate downloads are skipped)

I hope this helps, I wont have internet access for the next day or 2, but I'll check up on u guys the next chance I get, good luck!

I also want to report that the Hash-Check always fails for me, and it doesn´t show which Files are bad.
I hope you can fix that easily.

Another Idea: Could you maybe add an "Clean-Update-Mode" which downloads all unmodified IOS for a clean "Ninty-Like" Update?
Something like "Emulate 4.2 Update" or so.

Another Question: Do you/someone else may knows why the Hashes of:

-xzxero Guide-Wads
-NUS Downloader 1.4Beta-Wads
-and NUSAD Wads

are all different?

Is this because of using other "inside" tools to pack the WAD-Files?
So which WADs are the best packed ones, nearest Ninty Quality?

This worked fine for me a couple days ago and has stopped now with those errors. This is the easiest way to check the files:

QuickSFV, a tiny program. Create Download_Log.md5, copy it and paste it to the folder above where you saved them, right click on it an 'Verify All'

Edit: This is not working at all. Just like in NUS, the number of non-matching files changes everytime I check them. Crazyness.
