Hello everyone, I'm wanting to archive my game cartridge games since I like to have a backup of all my physical media. What tool is the best way to do this and which format is best for this, xci or nsp? Thank you so much :switch:

XCI is the equivalent of a cart, and NSP is equivalent of an Eshop purchase, though I believe you can convert one to the other. nxdumptool will allow you to do full cart dump, with or without certificates. The next question really is what the intended purpose is of the backups, since there isn't currently a way to restore the backup onto a cart afaik.

What ^ said. I personally don’t like nsp because that means I have to install the games.. xci plays off even external drives .. that’s the plus.

Just store them on an External HD. NSP/NSZ ... XCI if you are running SXOS I have a good 75 games stored on my external HD
