My brother has an EZ-V and it's, in my opinion, quite terrible. When the SLOT-1 race started, it was one of the best options, but it's getting worse, I'd say. Auto-DLDI patching was only recently implemented, the interface is MoonShell based and very poorly made (there are things that aren't translated, only the first row of the ROM header is shown, the integrated media player is stripped down to button control only), the games still save to an internal battery-powered chip, the loading times are one of the highest, the cheat support (I don't care for cheats, but ...) is very poorly implemented (you need to use some kind of .inis for each game, they can't be enabled/disabled in the menus, not even real-time) and soft-reset only works in about 70% of all cases.
Counting the card like X9 and NeoFlash, I think EZ-V is currently the worst best choice on the the market. Seriously, get a DSTT or R4 or SCDS instead.
DespizingU: CycloDS Evolution does have Real-Time Save. Also, their SLOT-2 cards are supported by SuperCard software (since they're clones) so they aren't completely abandoned
(but they're not available in the stores anymore). I, myself prefer CycloDS over SCDS1, simply because it has a more professional 'feel' to it (e.g. proper English and unified in-game menus). But that's just me.
