Okay, so my Zoom trial edition just expired and I can't watch any .mkv's in a good quality. VLC buffers, MPC doesn't show subs. What do you recommend?

Also, I have Haali Media Splitter, FFD Show and the CCCP installed.

It does. My bro asked on 4Chan and someone asked if he had them after he specifically stated that he had the CCCP. Anyway, can we keep it on topic?

CCCP should have VSfilter which in my opinion is the best sub display solution (I will punish myself for use of such words later). Worst case scenario there is you right click on the green arrow in your system tray and select what subs you want.

I tried to configure it, but nothing showed up. Would it help if I said I was using Windows 7?

You're on a site that deals mainly with getting software to work 'unofficially', as it were, so clearly you're no stranger to 'warez'. Can you not find a version with crack or keygen anywhere out there?

I could, but I don't trust many cracks.

    I use WMP for music
    CCCP for videos.

Never mind. Someone of 4ch suggested if Auto-Load subtitles was ticked.

    It wasn't.

A mod can lock this now.
    Thanks for everyone's help.

Waaaiiittt, don't lock it just yet!

    2 cents:

I've been using http://shark007.net/ for my codec packs and it's been working quite well because I wanted to use Windows Media Center for playing videos. The UI is pretty and works with my remote.

As much as I used to hate WMP, it's pretty slick these days with the right codecs installed.

    1. Screw CCCP. FFDShow by itself is more than enough to handle whatever you need. The latest SVN builds also have the ability to switch to DXVA.

    2. The best media player is in fact Media Player Classic - Home Cinema with FFDShow. It works fine with MKV files for me, subs and all.
