My vote is for the SP, great backlight, hell of a long battery life, and I liked the flip style.
Also fits perfectly in any pocket I have.

PS tell me if I left any out
And post what you chose in the poll and why

I agree with those
But the SP didn't exactly weigh a ton.

If style matters that much....

And Battery > Style anyways

I GUESS I have to go with the SP.

I mean, it's the Gameboy that EVERYONE had. It could play any game ever made for a Gameboy, and the backlight and clamshell spoiled us with unprecedented portability.

I just hate how dust somehow collects under the glass of the screen.

I'm not really taking into account the game capability.

This is more of a hardware poll.
Kind of an opinion on designs.

If the pocket was backlight I might have voted for it

Backlit GBA SPs were only released in USA...

So you might ant to be careful about assuming that all region GBA SPs are great....

Are you just pointing out that the first SPs were front lit? I realize the truly "backlit" ones came out in the U.S. much later, but they all were playable in the dark. :-P

Had a hard time choosing between the GBC and GBASP, but in the end "high"-tech won against the GBC's old-school factor.
Reasons I like the SP are mainly what the other's said already:
-Backlight
-Long battery life
-Play GB, GBC and GBA games
-Nice and light

I didn't have the best of luck with my sp though, after only two years (and I'm incredibly careful with my gaming stuff) The battery light would sometimes be red when I turned it on right after I had charged it, but it would just work for the normal battery life.

SP.

Micro is sexy and makes SP look clunky. But the Micro was almost too Micro. Micro's port also made it to where all your GBA and GBASP port-related accessories couldn't work. I was fond of my SP's 3.5mm Headphone accessory.

The SP had twice the screen size. And along with what everyone else was saying:

-Backlit Screen
-Rechargeable battery
-Clamshell design (Good for portability and screen protection)

And for some of those saying "Long battery life" All the GameBoys had long battery life. Thats why it was so successful in the 1st place. You just didn't have to buy new batteries every 6+ hours with the SP.

I like the SP's adjustable backlight.
And you can flip it, so the screen wont be damaged unlike the micro
Most of the SPs have frontlight, which explains why the screen looks so strange. There are some later models with backlight, but they are very rare.

Gameboy Colors are awesome.

They are to me, the most original and coolest gameboy ever.
This was the one I used to play (I still have it today).
I got it with Pokemon Gold many years ago.

I have to choose between the SP and the Micro. I prefer the SP because it has a very nice formfactor, but the Micro's screen was slightly better. And it was micro

So yeah, SP all the way

Tough call between the GBC and original GBA for me.

GBA:
*GBA Games
*VERY comfortable to hold

GBC:
*More portable with GB and GBC games
*Dark games were rare, so you could often play just fine with sunlight, unlike GBA games

I think I'd go with the GBA, because while I believe the GBC had good games, the GBA had many more, and lots of SNES ports.

And no SP or micro for me. I cant stand the SP's formfactor and the lack of GB/GBC game compatibility kills the micro for me. While it can be harder to see the original's screen because of the lack of a backlight, I sometimes prefer it since its much easier on the eyes.
