As far as I know there is no new update available, I went on the Wii U eShop earlier today (on 5.5.1) and got the platinum points for logging in to the eShop, so it looks like whatever they were updating was server side only.

And even if there wont be one, way to blame someone for actually warning you of the (in this case really strong) possibility of an update. The worst thing'd be that there'd be an update after all, and all these people whining and flaming to a person that actually tried to advice them to block updates, come here or make a post whining even more about that they updated because they didn't know there'd be an update and blaming and flaming even more to people that has nothing to do about it. It's kind of hilarious.

Well, let's see if there is an update tomorrow after all, because here at least, in Spain, there hasn't been an update (or at least, I haven't received it yet). Thanks anywais @OP because I didn't even know there'd be something new.
