Hi,
What kind of battery life do you guys get? I saw some data that suggests the Acekard 2 drains battery faster than other cards, does 2.1 improve that?

Isn't this much lower than normal? I'm not sure but I think a DS with normal games runs 10-12 hours on battery? The Acekard cuts that down to half?

my ndsl on brightness 2 with normal games gets me about 7-10 hrs of life, with any flash kit (and i own 9 of them) i've never had better than 5 hours. so the ak2 seems very normal to me in those respects.

-another world

You lose power because of the power the flashcarts chips need to run plus the power needed to run the interface for the sd slot. normal ds games have no extra power requirements because they have nothing but data on them.

edit: fixed grammar.

That is a pretty tiny power use though.

I believe GBAtemp (used to) do battery life tests in their flashcard reviews, and all the ones I have seen reduced it by 10-30 minutes. Which is not a problem if you charge regularly and don't use max brightness.

According to this post there is lower life from AK2 http://gbatemp.net/index.php?s=&showto...t&p=1469407 but i only have AK2 so cant compare myself
I don't go for that comparison. Bustyman100 didn't answered if he checked the brightness settings of AceKard before running the tests. I doubt about his results, maybe the settings for acekard was in a higher value than the default of his DS configuration.

yeah maybe - thing is he said 'full brightness' which should be easy to see its not on full on the other flashcarts.

You draw more power reading from/writing to the MicroSD. That's something normal carts do not have.

just tested the battery life 2 days ago

NDSL
Acekard 2.1 Black PCB
Sandisk class6 sdhc miscosd 4GB
lowest brightness
20-25% volume
Games mainly played include Mario Party DS, Advance War Dual Strike

From full charge to red light lit up took me 9 hours and 15 minutes. I didn't used up the battery, after the red led lit up, i stopped. So, i suppose it could go for another half an hour or more i guess.
