Hi. I've got a DS Lite and am using a 3-in-1 to play GBA games. I expect this is the same as using real GBA carts, but does only playing GBA games on the DS give better battery life than playing DS games.

As far as I know it would due to the use of only 1 screen and I think it uses less of the DS' power.

I hear that the DS lasts about 5-6 hours on the brightest screen setting. Does this increase when playing only GBA games?

the slot-2 cards have an SRAM battery. This is also the save battery because the way gba games save are by writing to the SRAM.
Once the SRAM or save battery dies in a slot-2, you can not create new saves.
