I have watched the first several times and thought it was awesome but I have yet to get around to the other film (started several times but owing to lack of sleep never got far)/book/manga.

Really, in concept, it's amazing.
But when they put it to film...
I actually laughed when I watched it.

Well, then you should probably stay away from Ichi the Killer.

The most disgusting (mainstream, released in the U.S.) Japanese movie is Audition.


As for BR, 2 sucked, now doubt.
The manga (plural, manga) was OK, but it was a little too hardcore for me. I haven't been interested enough to find the novel, though I hear it's good.
I enjoyed the first movie, especially Beat Takeshi.

However, this movie came out like 10 years ago. It's old stuff.

ichi the killer is one of the lamest movies i have ever seen.... a lot of sword cuts and a million litres of blood don't make a movie cool or scary....

I laughed a few times while watching BR, but I didn't like it.
