By the way a majority of wii u owners are those who have tasted the challenge of older games. I grew up with famicom (not nes and I do not understand a Japanese word).

Exactly the point ive been trying to make; they really cant sell to people other than nintendo fans. If the NX really wants to be a commercial success again they really need to break out of their tiny shell. More money in advertisement, no more nintendo direct videos. It has to be up front and in person at e3 with a finished game being played live with a great sell point. Im sure if nintendo wanted to cater for their 10mil+ worldwide console fanbase im sure they can do that easily, but getting everyone else to buy in is much harder and requires basic knowledge of gaming business. Otherwise its back to selling amiibo action figures as its sole moneymaker.

A AAA Nintendo game could have been easily made 10+years ago. Whereas a AAA game from any other big developer could never have been realised on a console 10+years ago.

This is one of the many problems Nintendo has. Their games have stayed stagnant. When I play a Nintendo game it feels like I'm being whisked back to the early 2000s. They are well made games, but are very basic in what they achieve.

I'm not shelling out $300 for a new console to play games which would feel right at home on a ps2/ps3.

Nintendo has sullied their own products and name that even if they come out with a good product it will have to have a good price point to even sell. Its a little late too because the video game technology right now is expanding so quick the console cycle will be done faster this time than others

Im just speculating all the hurdles that nintendo's nx has to jump just to be mainstream again and surpass $13mil consoles sold. Having a madden and call of duty will only help.Skyward swords lifetime sales peak at 4mil while an annual game madden 16 has 3mil so far.

Metroid has consistently sold only 1 mil copies per game too, thats not very good

One grand theft auto console on a cheaper than xb1/ps4 console will kill the numbers. But then again its late to the party with 60+mil consoles sold.

Turns out that debunked Polaris 10 rumor was true for ps4k (r9 480 equivalent, 8GB GDDR5X, 36 cu, 2304 shaders, expect 3 ~ 3.5 teraflop considering lower clock).
Does anyone wished for a reworked ngc controller?
By the way if Nintendo wants any of the video playback features it is built inside the hardware, but it might leave easier access to kernal.

Welcome the era of incremental consoles.

NeoPS4 (or nPS4 similar to n3DS if you want) likely will have a UHD disc player too(not worry there will be not 599 price nightmare again ...they will sell it at loss probably) ...

Sony is doing right, even if they dominated MS they need to support 4K tvs (not big sales last year ) and PSVR this holiday.
Waiting for MS move NX will benefit too from a new console launch because of lower prices if they decide to ask AMD the same chipsets for NX .
and could be also the case that since NX uses AMD Sony decided to follow too anticipating the console revision skipping the usual slim version to a upgrade version.
(if you want to believe the rumor that NX is AMD based)


People that abandoned wiiu already bought a X1/ps4.
People that are waiting for NX will likely not be impressed by 4k support because they are all about gaming and not specs(good gamers the nintendo ones )
People that own a ps4 will keep them or sell it to buy a nPS4.

Big question here are X1 fanboys, if MS will not answer within this year how much percentage of them will remain loyal to the brand?
I bet most of them will sell X1 and buy a PS4k ...
ex X1 owners that already switched to a PS4 so unlikely they will to spend again money to buy a new ps4...

i think used market will be full of X1 and PS4 on June

@gameboy ...go sell your Ps4 and Wiiu now that they still pay some good bucks if you plan a ps4k since you are all about medium ...

I get to choose between ps4k or an actual r9 480x (and psvr or vive).
I think they will put a better gpu in there, let's just hope the clock is better.

First thing that came to my head was whats a fair price i can sell my stuff for.

Most people dont realize that Sony as a company is on its last leg as well. Sony is a company that isnt going to let nintendo even try to break through. $400 for the ps4k, is a very good deal. Nobody buys their speakers, phones, tvs, headphones, computers, etc.etc. The only thing have going for them is the playstation systems and maybe their bluray players.

This could be a very good sign for we nintendo buyers because the nx will have to put whatever it is they have for us at a much lower price.

P.S.
as a nintendo platinum member for 3 years the only thing i got were choices one BS game i already had, a calender, and some other BS toy stuff. PSN+ give you free games every month ($40/yr).

if you sell the ps4 you could go PSVR and nPS4
there are more chances to get a iosu for Nx than wiiu





Sony and Panasonic made in japan tvs are still a thing for people.
they are a always a brand casual customers cares about.
This is way they still kept TV factories in japan while markest expected them to sell.
also they target mostly the 50+ inches segment that is going strong lately...

UHD support will cost a bit but Sony will eat the loss on the launch...

platinum was free ... you have no "free" games with a PAID psn+ ... that's a strange view on money ...speaking of perceived value ...

Got rid of ps4 for a while.
I do suppose newer bigger system with more modern design is more hackable. And that everyone develop things on these hardware.
And sony speaker/ headphone should not be dead yet.

This half stretch of gaming is gonna be an all time epic battle. A battle nintendo has entered on the losing side many year too late. Im interested in seeing what the NX will bring to the table. Is it gonna be a bb gun or is john rambo gonna pop out and just wreck ass?

Its like the scene in the beginning of first blood part 2 where the colonel shows up and hes all like "we need you rambo"

the point is that both companies gonna make it a battle, im interested to see what comes out of it.

i was speculating the hurdles the nx has to jump the sell more than 13mil copies this time. sony gonna make them jump higher

in the end we're hopefully gonna get something good out of it
