Okay, so I got a PSP 2004 on my hands, with a failed firmware flash. The display remains black when trying to turn it on. Green light stays on though.

So i opened up my battery, cut the line with the number 19, essentially making it into a pandora battery. Plugged back in and it automatically booted/turned on the green light without me doing anything. So far so good.

Next up i used Rains UltraLite MMS Maker to prepare my memory stick (5.00 m33-4/DCv8).

Stuck that in my psp, replugged in the pandora battery - light turns on, but display remains black. manually turning it off and on didn't make a difference, nor holding the L-trigger while booting.

What the hell? Can anyone help me get the PSP back to life?

Try an alternative firmware flashing tool/CFW installer. If that's still giving nothing it's possible that may be a latter day 2000 and it's non-recoverable (check the date code)

I already tried other tools for preparing the memory card. Same difference^^

Date Code is 8C. Recoverable?

Not sure that would help or do anything, but did you try holding R while booting, too?
yeah, no recovery mode.

also about the L-trigger:
i read somewhere that this is required for booting the stuff on the memory stick.

Or grow sum balls and do it yourself, not hard. More of a pain to jailbreak a ps4 than it is the 360, other than little soldering.
