I just tried it at 2x. It still failed with same error.
Using Memorex DVD+R
What burner are you using? +R needs the booktype set to dvd-rom, which some drives don't do automatically. Others (like pioneer) don't/can't do it at all. Youc an edit the pioneer firmware to allow auto bitsetting to DVD-Rom.

Burn at 8x for reliable burns, ignore the 2x or 4x advice (unless you have an old 4x burner). Modern burners and discs aren't designed for burning at 4x.

QUOTE(Justken4ever @ Oct 28 2008, 07:58 AM) If thats possible would loading by sd (Class 6) that be faster than 6x(dvd speed)?
SD card class makes no difference - the class rating guarantees a minimum sustained WRITE speed. Most SD cards read at ~20MB/sec (most are guaranteed a minimum of 10MB/sec).

DVD Read speed is 1.32MB/sec - a little under 8MB/sec for 6x. The RAT of SD is far far faster than DVD could ever manage. As long as the SD hardware in the wii isn't speed limited it would be plenty fast enough.

That's not to say that loading games from it is possible at all, just that even the slowest of SDHC cards are fast enough.

Considering the length of this thread, I'm just gonna ask, if I may.
Any issues with installing this that would cause regular discs to stop loading i.e. original copies of TP and M Galaxy? Even Wii Sports won't load for me now, though I'm not saying it's the backuploader, I'm saying it might be the backuploader, cause I don't know what else it could be.

Sadly if it's not loading burnt discs is something I'm unaware of as well, because I don't currently have one and won't for some time. :V

Otherwise my Wii isn't bricked, it boots fine. I can HBC v9, install wads, etc. I can even load gamecube games, but not Wii.

TW Hack > HBC v9, Wii 3.1U? (Mario Galaxy Update) with SafeUpdate applied > cIOS installer > Backup Loader Channel.wad.

Any clues? Also no primary internet on Wii, have to move it to another room to do that, so if it requires internet to fix it might take me a while to get around to it.

Thanks in advance.

Well I figured since (assuming) most people have 3.2X that perhaps my 3.1X > SafeUpdate 3.3U might have had something to do with it, or a cIOS problem, more than the backuploader in specific. I'll try uninstalling cIOS later, perhaps.

No thats not the backup loaders fault, maybe during install you did something wrong?
Whats the "Safe update" anyway?

Comes in the backuploader AIO pack basically.

How-To.txtStage 2 : Install the rest
**************************
1. Go to the Homebrew Channel and select safe update 3.3u - this will update the wii with the recent nintendo releases and save you headaches in the future (Thanks tona) - its not required but is handy to have. ("Handy" part was added in pack update I just downloaded (I think). I installed the first version of the pack.)
2. In the homebrew channel select cIOS Installer and install that - all files required are also in the zip so it should be quick (Thanks WiiGator)
3. Select number 6 - WAD manager and install the BackupChannel_0.3.wad (Have this one, not force NTSC even though I am, since I didn't have it yet.) file (Thanks Shadowmoses & Tgames & Forsaekn) - There is also a force NTSC wad for those in the US
4. Burn your ISO to disc (no need to patch them with this version) and get ready to play games.
5. Added recently is a WAD for the Mplayer channel if you want this but its not required. (Not used.)
Stage 2 complete !

AGAIN:

Anyone has installed the retry_fix and then installed the v3 cIOS without problems, I'm reading that many people is gettin' "error eject and turn off", so why don't you go back to the cIOS that came with the backup loader v0.3??? is not possible or what??

I'm pretty sure that the cios fix WILL automatically uninstall IOS249v6 and update it.

Last resort: Use AnyTitleDeleter and delete IOS249, then reinstall. Do this ONLY IF YOU DIDNT DO THE OCTOBER 23, 2008 3.3 UPDATE!

Thanks for the answer

I've noticed that theres 2 different sized fix files if it makes a difference

Another mirror:
Feel free to link to it...my bandwidth is yours folks
http://madtamski.com/downloads/cios_installer_read_retry.tgz
Again...thanks for everything guys!

is 340kb

Wiigators link is 335kb.

Regarding OFFLINE install i did it with no problems

I tried both of them and get an network.net_init.failed =error116

I have gotten it before with the iso dumper too...but after a few tries it works...

What's got me is I am using an ethernet connection on the Wii... I have used wifi as well.. same results sometimes wifi more than other..and the wii is just across from my FIOS router.

Anyways.. I know my internet works on the wii... because I test shop channel and opera and make sure the icon is white and not blinking or off before trying to run the reread_fix that wiigator has suggested for people to try.

About what people said about the "conspiracy" of what Nintendo is doing with this project... that's freaking crazy...and makes alot of sense... especially when you know there is probably a mole or 2 within these threads.

Where the hell is Bootmii dammmmit?!

I know you said you've tried with wifi but this sounds similar to what you're saying.
From the Wiibrew entry on the shop fixQUOTE
NOTE: TAKE OUT ANY GAMECUBE MEMORY CARDS/CONTROLLERS AND USB DEVICES BEFORE INSTALLING ANYTHING. The first time one person installed the IOS51 and Wii Shop Channel, one person had a Gamecube memory card and a wireless adapter in the Wii, and it didn't install correctly. But after taking out all Gamecube items and re-installing everything, it worked fine. Axelpaxel discovered that USB devices caused the same bug.

Just to let you know...I never have gc stuff plugged in....I usually read all the threads... So I don't know what it is as of right now...and the also, it doesn't really look like that fix isn't working out the way people need it to anyways...thanks for the help... be sure to check out my custom launcher for the wiimenu and let me know what you guys think... I will be making another one with more images I've made from scratch..
Artwork is my thing...and I think this project deserves to have gator's credit where deserved...

Well no one answered what I was asking so i did the retry_fix, insert Paper Mario and still the game freezes when you pay all the rubes in 2-3 chapter, the 1:1 get the "eject and turn off" so maybe I will reinstal the FIRST cIOS that came with the Backup Launcher 0.3, IF is possible

EDIT: I went back to the first cIOS (BUL3) and need the save for Super Paper Mario 2-4, can any one send it to me

Hey everyone,
Can anyone explain to me what the read retry cios is? Normally I don't ask questions and just lurk for the answer, but this thread has gotten so big I cant figure it out. Does it help to fix Star Wars: TFU or Mario and Sonic? The first post in this thread doesn't get updated fast enough, would it be possible to put a little paragraph and any needed links at the top of the compatibility wiki talking about where the current state of the loader is (http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/index.php/Backup_Launcher_v3)? This would hopefully stop people from asking similar questions.

Also me and my friends were playing Mario Kart yesterday (4 player split screen) on an non-decrypted disc, and after a bunch of races I went to load another level (toads factory) and it gave the eject and reset error. Just wondering if anyone else had this error or if it was a one time thing?

Big thanks to everyone involved in this, you all rock!

Hi,

please don´t flame me because this is my very first post on the board.

I´m reading this topic since it has been started, and I´m impressed what wiigator and wininkoko had done so far, it´s amazing.

So what i´m about to ask, how do I get ntsc games with the loader to workon a Pal Wii. Should I patch them to pal and burn them or how does it work? I don´t get it.

I also have an ntsc Wii from the USA, but I won´t mod it, for some personel reasons, like I want to hold it completely original.

So it would be nice if someone can help me.

Thank you,

Deepfreezer

Last question ( I think. ), and sorry if it seems unrelated but just bear with me for a minute.
Does resetting your firmware from the Wii system settings cause any problems if you have all this installed?
I just remembered that my Wii had trouble reading Wii discs before for no reason and I think a firmware reset fixed it :V
Buggy freaking Wii. (Only cause it's been disassembled and im-properly re-assembeled somewhat. Failed wiikey installed. Still got the chip, might be brave enough to do alt-install one day but if I can get the backuploader working I'll be happy~)

Download that its awesome. It will change the region of any game iso to whatever you want. And it will also remove the update from the iso so you wont brick your console. When you first load the program it will be in German (i think) but there is a setting to change the language.

Just load the game with that, patch the region, and burn.

you dont need to do that, just run it in wiigator's loader, he will take care of everything

Hello. Hopefully someone can help me get this working despite the fact that this is my first post.

When I try to load a DVD with Wiigator's Backup Launcher 0.3 I receive the following error:

2ldx79e.jpg

which apparently says Set error: No DVD over Decrypt failed (Thanks ether2802)

I am using TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M burner with SB03 Firmware
I am using Sony DVD+R Ver1.3 media

I started off using ImgBurn but changing the BookType to DVD-ROM did not appear to be sticking. I've switched to Nero which seems to change the BookType successfully, but I still get the error. I've tried with Super Link Buffer Underrun Protection both enabled and disabled. I'm burning at 4x which is the lowest listed.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Edited to add image.

thats because there is somthing wrong with your backup im using sony dvd-r at 6x speed and they work perfetc maybe you shuold try dvd-r

no idea if this is relevant but in the 0.1 loader, that happened to me because of some installation problem. i went back and completely reinstalled all the things needed for the loader and then the same discs which had given me the error before began to work. again, i don't know if the problem might have carried over to the new loader.
