I just tried it at 2x. It still failed with same error.

if you are using dvd+r make sure that you change the booktype to dvd-rom. that might help

that's what i use and i have no problems

also make sure the games your trying don't need to be patched(decrypted), some 1:1 backups don't work

after you select your brand of drive the drop down box on the change for line should have dvd+r as an option.

That's what I'm doing.

Change Book Type->Selected brand type->Change for "Current Media"->New setting changed to "DVD-ROM" and clicked Apply.
And then it says

Why don't dvd-rw/dvd+rw discs work?
Technically is there a reason as to why or is it the software cannot "handle" those discs yet?

No, I have burnt many games on DVD+R's and they are not booktyped DVDROM and they work, I think this may fix my problem I am having with a game giving me disk read errors randomly.

I plan to make a legit backup of my Brawl.

But I got worried because it's +R. Not -R.

So I was wondering, will it still work!? I'm worried. I always use DVD-R's on all my games, but I haven't tried any DVD+R's yet.

Please get back to me.

EDIT: Wanted to know also, should I, or shouldn't I, patch the Brawl backup ISO?

I didn't have any problems with DVD+R or DVD-R..
Both types work for me.

Sometimes it's good to look out for a firmware update of your DVD-Writer, just to enhance the compatibility.

F...k this thread moves at an incredibly high speed, has anyone installed the "retry cIOS" and then went back to the cIOS that came with the BUL0.3? I'm reading that many people is having less compatibility and many errors with the "retry cIOS"

by the way, never had a problem on DVD using Nero Express 6, the patched ones booktyped DVD-ROM burned on Verbatim16X+R, the 1:1 I don't know cause I bought them, and they don't even have a brand but they are DVD-R, lucky for me cause in here you can buy the backups in 4usd, he he he...
