Great Backup Loader FAQ djtaz! If only people would READ it, then they wouldn't need to ask the same questions over and over.

your argument is stupid. the guys at nintendo and other devs are payed for their work. the guys involved here won't get nothing but respect out of the community. how could you get respect if you aren't even mentioned. the banner is made by ShadownMose, the loader is made by WiiGator, that one is based up on Geckoos by nuke and the source code by waninkoko, the channel it self was created by Tgames.

so you can see how many ppl put there time in it. we know that (especially)nuke and waninkoko don't wanna be mentioned. but at least the creator of the banner should get his credits in his banner. it's his banner. nobody asked him, if the credits could be removed. it's his work, time and effort. so just give him what he deserves.

what would you think, if you had created a nice looking graffiti with your signature under it and somebody else would just spray over your sig.?

I agree with that. But i don't like seeing "credits" on graphics. Why not juste make a credits menu inside the channel like apps from HBC Channel ? I think it's cleaner.

Edit : However, creators deserve to be ASKED first if they wanna be named, if they wanna take off credits from banners and stuffs.

that's a good suggestion, i agree with that. i think as soon as wiigators new luncher is ready he should do a contest for a nice looking banner and sound, like they did for the hbc. the other thing is, that with the new loader its not necessary to have a separate channel because you can start backups with the disc channel. but i wouldn't be the only one appreciating an official backuploader channel, similar to the disc channel.

but right now all the channels created are "hacked" together, with injection tools and stuff like that. without intending to step on someone's toes nearly non of the guys building channels know how to create an extra menu point within the existing source to extend the loader with such a point.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't scrubbed games just a compressed version where the garbage (Blank) data is ignored so it can be transferred easier then back to normal when it's unrar'd?

it will be a good idea to regroup all the credits somewhere in the release files. Eventually not on screen but in the textfile (nfo) in the zip file.

The hbc channel is a lot more complex channel, it will demands a lot of time to do a such beautiful thing.

sorry if that's been answered before, but i didn't see it confirmed by anybody and i've been reading since the pages were in the 80s....

AFAIK it doesnt work via the Disc Channel, but WiiGator is looking to do it at some stage with a future release

Hi there! I have big problem. Every time when I want to patch the game it give me error message

I tried every backup-creator what exist... Do I need something special? What is DVDX? I read I don´t need it. I tried GUI version but unsuccesfuly. Where is the problem?

In some ways you're right. Nintendo could look at the source code and see what hey have to update to make it useless. However, they could get the same information by just reverse engineering the binary, which is even easier for Nintendo, since they made the console and know exactly how it works.
On the other hand, if the loader is open-source, then in the event of an update, ANYONE can go and look for a new exploit or a different working method to make it work again.
Also, I don't think the source code for the Twilight Hack has ever been released (I could be wrong....) and yet Nintendo still released an update, rendering that version of the Twilight Hack useless. On the other hand, within 12 hours or so, a new exploit was found and the Twilight Hack still works like a charm today.
So I don't think we'll have to fear for an update from Nintendo rendering the loader useless, even if the source code is released. And you can always just not install the udpate......

the security flaws the loaders make use of are already public. there where even reported to nintendo before they have been made public. so it doesn't matter if or if not the source code will be released.
