arm the homeless, are you still working on your banner. i ask only cause you said you forgot about it before, not because i'm being impatient lol. just wanna know if your ever doing it or your content with compachos one.

It's very cool thank you so much

they mean "Remove batteries before load screen to get past freeze." sounds like plain english to me. but yeah, you gotta wait like 5-10 minutes with the battery out then the game will trigger the "wiimote not found" prompt bringing you past the freeze.

I don't get it, i got everything working, played a few games.. al on DVD-R but i see people here running +R dvds..

I'm just wondering, is it me or hates my Wii me for just being stuck at the DVD-R stuff..

Today i bought some DVD-RW (since i dont have any -R DVD left

) dics in the hope they work.. but it wont read.. DVD Identify error somehow.. can someone explains me if its just me or are more people have the same trouble.. it makes me mad! Because i dont want to fck up DVD's with stupid games.. i want to use the RW to decide wether i burn it over to -R or buy the original..

Thanks

use imgburn to burn. before you burn though you have to change the booktype of the disc to DVD-ROM. jsut google "imgburn change booktype" or something.

Yeah, I tried Sony DVD-RW and I had the same problem, too.

AFAIK, if you set it to DVD-ROM, the rewritable won't be a re anymore.

but, you can probably just use minusRW, and it should still be rewritable
also, ruining rewritable media comes more often from overburning,
so dont burn faster than it says on the disc, cuz the program will allow you to.

Okai thanks!

Ill try it out.. if it works ill let it know, if it don't work ill let it know also, cause them im afraid i need to buy a new wii since it seems like most people got it working.

Ooh im using imation DVD-RW & the -R runs like a charm, so it shouldn't be the brand

rewritable media is a lot harder to get working than normal writables - thats what seems to be the general agreement on there - they do work for some , but generally you have to use writable media to get it going.

Yeah, seriously, don't use -RWs unless they have a write speed over or equal to 4x. 4x was when I stopped getting verify errors. I went through 6 -RW discs burning at numbers like 4x, 8x and 16x until I found out that their max speed was 2x and on a 2x burn the iso on the disc was smaller than the iso on the computer so there was a verifying error making my DVDs useless, couldn't even erase them.

ALWAYS check the maximum burn speed of your discs!

This has lead me to think that maybe -RWs can work if their max burn speed is 4x or higher.

patched games cannot be read by any programs currently, only burnt.

download my repackaged extractpartition, it has root key.

I downloaded xyzzy and used it yesterday, but with the root key and all i couldnt manage to use extractpartition, got stuck on the

''cannot open root-key: No such file or directory'' problem, even tho the root-key is right there

should it work, the file created by extractpartition is the one im supposed to burn at 2.4, right?

Also, my drive isnt listen in those ImgBurn can change the booktype for, am i screwd?

I've been getting crazy and finally i got my booktype changed.. never thought it would be that hard.. had to flash my old crappy 2003 NEC DVDRW to get it working.. im now testing a DVD+RW with booktype to DVD-ROM it al seems to work well.
ImgBurn tells me it changed booktype my DVD+RW supports 4x speed writing.. unfortunatly it only goes 2.4x so we'll see what happens when its done.. ill keep ya'll updated

i just tried using the extractpartition tool instead of the leaked backup-ceator and im getting errors decrypting Link's Crossbow Training.
H0 mismatch for {insert hex address here}.{insert hex number here}
anyone else know if this is normal or just because its more verbose than the leaked backup creating program?

edit: the game is scrubbed, so maybe that's why I'm getting some kind of mismatch error?

edit2: game works fine, i guess the H0 error is due to scrubbing.

It doesn't matter the game is scrubbed it will continue extracting, i download scrubbed games also, and played a few without errors on the Wii, just skip that, wait till it's done and burn te game, it will work fine!

UPDATE ON THE BURNING PROCESS
It failed on me.. again shit! Now im trying another burner.. i got way to many of them

This one actualy does support DVD-ROM (Yay!) so maybe i get this stuff working without the need to flash my firmware.. pffrt

Hi, I've searched around (maybe not enough) but I couldn't find any direct answer to my problem:

Question:
I have WiiGator's Backup Launcher (no modchip). I have the full SSBB backup ISO and I burned it on a Verbatim DVD+R DL and set the booktype in IMGburn to DVD-ROM and burned it at 1x. This is what happens when I launch the game: I get the "how to hold the controller" screen, then a Loading screen. About 2 minutes later, the screen is just blank. Does anyone have any success with the DVD9 version of SSBB with the Backup Launcher?

My original SSBB game works fine (though it's starting to get some scratches hence my backup...) so it's a Dual Layer laser problem.
Also, my backups of Mario strikers and mario party 8 work fine, so I don't think I messed up in the actual patching / burning process.

Thank in advance for any support.

Do not use DVD+R(W). I burnt Naruto EX2 on a Memorex DVD+R w/ DVD-ROM booktype, did not work. Same file on a Memorex DVD-R, success. DVD-R are more compatible w/ DVD players and game consoles. I also get the black screen after the controller safety when playing Metroid Prime 3, so it might be a speed issue since both games probably need faster read speeds. Try upgrading your firmware to 3.3. What media type did you use on the other backups?
