hey, I want to install the channel version of backup launcher to make it easier for my brothers to use it. But I don't know how to set it up on my card, as I got the homebrew channel setup with wiiBrew's pack generator...

Look for DJTAZ and his signatures. He has all kind of links with information. Also I don't think it plays Gamecube ISO, but I could be wrong.

First of all: welcome back Waninkoko

I've tried to make everything right, but my backup launcher just doesn't seem to work with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed USA. I've got CIOS v6 patchmii by bushing, backup launcher 0.1 in the HBC and as a channel itself, and dvdx set up for 249. Everything goes right after I put the DVD-r with the patched game in my wii, but after the green screen blinks, the screen becomes black FOREVER!

Can anybody tell me what I've done wrong? Thx for the help!

Yup the " CIOS v6 patchmii by bushing " is whats causing the issues i would think - try getting the CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042.wad by Waninkoko and use that one instead with DVDx patched to ios249 - ... just in case ur looking for them (google is great) but i have them all in the zip on my sig , though theres a lot more than you are looking for in there as well.

Hi All

I am having the same problem as above, however i have this CIOS CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042.wad rather than bushings. Now i am using RITEK Goldtops to burn to is this decent enough media. I am also using a Optiarc ad-7560a dvd burner and i am using image burn. I have burnt at 2x and 4x spped but still getting black screen straight after the green screen. When i listen to the wii i can hear the disk make some sort of constant movement inside the machine. I followed djtaz step by syep guide which was a great help by the way. My wii is a PAL version

EDIT: I have tried both sim city creator PAL LEGO Batman PAL and i am having the problems with both of them.

Any ideas what i need to do thanks in advance for your time.

(im using DVD+R memorex) but i also have DVD-RW maxell
Besides the fact that DVD+R's don't work properly unless you set booktype to DVD-ROM, I've heard people say DO NOT use Memorex as it has problems. Also, I'm pretty sure DVD-RW's don't work. Just so you know though, I'm using Maxell myself (DVD-R) and they work.

I have the same problem. Screen went green and then black. I tried 2 different burner (both LG one fast writer and one in my notebook). Medias i tried are: Verbatim DVD+R, Verbatim DVD-R and Sony DVD-R. I burned with imgburn, the ISOs are ok with WiiU and patched sucessfully. Sim City Creator, Marioparty and Super Paper Mario.

The Problem with Blackscreen is in waninkoko and wiigators loader and also with force pal.

ok my experience so far i burned many frisbee smg pal i used nero and img burn all on a no name playo dvd-r disk i then tried clone cd and it worked first time 2.4 times burn...so i then tried a memorex dvd+r in clone cd and again worked its a pioneer so didnt matter the disk 4 me but the program

Thats easy enough.

1. Get this file here : http://www.iol.ie/~taz/HB-backuplauncher.dol.wad
2. Put it into the WAD folder on your SD card
3. Start up the Wii WAD manager and install it

QUOTE(ChaosBoi @ Oct 3 2008, 02:08 AM) Sorry if it's asked before, but is it possible to play backup GC isos with this? There are a few GC titles that I want to play, but can't find in stores.

No - this is for Wii dvds only - there is another wad for playing backup GC games , but its not in any way releated to this thread im afraid. Its like asking about a ford car in a honda garage some people may know but its not really the right place to ask

Unrelated , but needs to be said
I have also noticed that a lot of people who initially came here asking questions about everything are now the ones answering the questions and i would like to say well done to all of them. They have learnt from their experiences , have done some research for themselves and have then dedicated themselves to assisting others with the same issues. Thats what the community is all about and i want to let everyone helping out know that people do notice and its appreciated by all (especially those asking for help). Your a great bunch of guys and girls on here. Thanks.

Indeed, and if Force PAL dont work, you may have to convery NTSC to PAL.
And how can I convert it?
Search for WiiFrii; I think that's the name of it and I'll assume the conversions it does will work with the backup loader.
I just made a stupid mistake, I used WiiFrii on the Iso, and converted it. Then I burned the unpatched iso on a DVD-R which obviously didn't work with the backup loader. So I'm wondering, if I use the iso patcher on this is it still converted to NTSC?
Well yea you still have to run the backup-creator patch on the WiiFrii-modified ISO. But first, try what seuden said to do: "Have you set the TV type to PAL 60 in the Wii Settings? Then force PAL 60."
Yeah I did that before I posted my previous question! Anyway I can play the NTSC version of No More Heroes now!

Thanks a lot guys for helping me.

Ok, now i tested burning with clone cd, too. cIOS5 and DVDx works well, because httpdumper works. But still black screen.

Well, I've wasted a bunch of DVD's trying to get RE4 and MarioKart to work with this loader. I've patched Star Wars The Force Unleashed, Rayman Raving Rabbids2, Ferrari Challenge, Tomb Raider Anniversary and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles (all PAL) without problems using Wani's backup-creator.exe on Linux. All of them patch fine and look like genuine Wii DVD ISO's and burn like them AND play. It's just MK & RE4 that patch fine (or so it seems) but the patched ISO isn't recognised as a Wii game image and if I burn them anyway the loader won't load them.
I'm confused because these 2 games are on the compatibility list. Could it be my source ISO's? They check out fine as genuine game images. I've not done anything different between the ones that work and the ones that don't.....

The only difference that's obvious is that whilst all the ISO's are 4.4GB to start with, the ones that work are 4.0GB when patched but RE4 and MK both are 3.8GB when patched?!

that wont help it is compatible with both 3.2 and 3.3
I use 3.2E myself and it works realy good but it is not better or more bad then 3.3E

Heeyy people!!

Remember that not all of us HAVE THE SAME WII SYSTEM, the drive chip could not be the same, the ISO could be bad or your burning program could make a bad burning, the blank DVD could have a manufacturer failure, so........yes the list of compatibles is quite handy, but doesn't have to work for everyone, you need to try other alternatives, such as:

Change your media: I'm using 16X Verbatim+R, I could change to Maxell or Sony or any other good brand
Change your burning Program: I'm using Nero 6, i'll try ImgBrn, Alcohol, etc etc etc.
Try on other PC or other Burner: I have a Gateway notebook with an externak usb DVD+ DL-RW Lite-On
SHM-16S5H,"....dad/mom/brother/sister/mate/neighbor/lover/wife/husband can I take borrow your Desktop, for 1 hour?, please"
try to change the original ISO: If it's NTSC, make it PAL (WiU1.1, WiiFrii, etc), if it's PAL make it NTSC, doesn't matter if you have NTSC/PAL Wii, DO IT...!!!
TRY TO READ TO MENU ON THE LAUNCHER ENTIRELY: So you know what functions/options, you have

If after waste 20 DVD PAL and/or NTSC, change the settings on the launcher, verify with Waninkoko's and WiiGator's Loader/Launcher, you still can't play the game, even if you have seen the campatibily list, and it says it plays better than the original one and when you finish the game gives you and alternative porno finale, maybe you should get to the conclusion that the game just doesn't work with your Wii and try other titles, you can always buy the original copy to have it working on your Wii, I get the Mario Strikers to work on the first time, and I know that in the list says it has troubles, but after playing the game I liked so much, and now I'm having troubles (Damm), my solution: I'm going to buy the original copy, because I really enjoyed

Don't get frustrated if doesn't work at first time, calm dowm, waste all your resources, and as always keep us posted, and tell us about the results of your quest...!! Saludos

Figured I might get a reply quicker here, Has anyone tried GH3-Rockband-or GH:Aerosmith?
I read that they work, but are the notes laggy, or is there really long load times?

Thanks!

Oh and ether2802 Hit the nail on the head.
