Apple-vs-FBI.jpg

With the legal battle over one iPhone now behind them, lawyers for the Justice Department and Apple resumed their sparring in another case on Friday, as prosecutors told a federal judge in Brooklyn that they still needed the company’s help to unlock a drug dealer’s iPhone

Yeah, this seems really fishy to me. Why wouldn't they have learned what that company did the first time so that the FBI can just do it time and time again for any and all iphones they want to get into.

If apple wouldn't unlock it for a large threat like a terrorist, why would they take the time to do it for a drug dealer. If they FBI wants to get into these phones they're going to have to do it themselves and learn that no means no
The ironic thing about that is that Apple has actually unlocked phones for them before.

A lot of people are speculating that Apple only said "no" was because the terrorist thing was big on the news, and Apple wants to look Pro-Consumer (although we know they aren't).

Edit: In case you want more than one source.

I can't say I'm too surprised by this, and I honestly don't have a problem with Apple unlocking some phones in the first place. However, After how much shit this got they should probably wait for a while to ask again. Let the whole issue die down. This is just making them seem pushy and giving them bad press.

crApple are a-holes thats why they say no. They are going against court orders so they risk being jailed for not doing it.
I hope they do say no and go to jail. They have screwed over the customer for many years, they deserve jail time.
Maybe then they'll understand why people want a jailbreak for their phone...

Sorry, couldn't resist.

*sigh*

Two months ago: FBI wants apple's help to unlock the phone of a known terrorist
Today: FBI wants apple to unlock the phone of a drug dealer
Somewhere in the future: FBI wants apple to unlock the phone of someone suspected of having doubts on the course of the government
