Yup, as part of the suggestions, today I'll be doing a <b>Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition</b> (Nintendo 3DS) review.

<div align='center'><img src="http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/media/25589/4/1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></div>

Again, pictures are by me or the web, all rights go to their respective owners. This time, the images are taken with my iPhone 4.

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Introduction</div><!--h-->
<p align=" " class="none">Capcom has always been known for its Street Fighter series, and now it comes back to the Nintendo handheld (I remember there was one for the Gameboy), this time in 3D. As a launch title, capcom wants this game to be fresh and (trying to) include all the 3DS-capable features into the game; such as StreetPass and Download Play. Well, it's pretty much of a success I must say.

Street Fighter isn't just your ordinary arcade fighter, it is a fighter combining reality and virtual. Punches and kicks won't save you alone, but with a nice combos of Hadoken and Shoyuken, they can really save your day.

These are what to expect for Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition.

From now on, I will abbreviate this game as SSFIV. The full name is just too lengthy.</p>

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Into the game</div><!--h-->
<p align=" " class="none">When you insert your game into the 3DS, there will be a spinning logo with the words 'Super Street Fighter IV - 3D Edition'. In 3D, it looks very impressive.
<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0607.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

There will be an intro video which looks very cool. Sadly, it isn't in 3D.

You will be brought into the menu with a couple of options. It's quite simple to follow; you'll mostly concentrate on Arcade, Versus or 3D Versus.

<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0610.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

That's about it! </p>

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Nah, let's head on to gameplay...</div><!--h-->
<p align=" " class="none">SSFIV has 3 fighter modes. Arcade, Versus and 3D Versus. The difference between Versus and 3D Versus (and 3D mode in Arcade) is that it will portray in a new '3D view', which I'll explain later.

The thing which I always LOVED about SSFIV are the number of characters you can choose from.
<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0611.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0612.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0613.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Also the variety of stages. Er... Kinda.

<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0614.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

The stages don't really have much variety actually. Most of them are day and night versions of the same location. For example, 'Run Down Back Alley' is the night version of 'Crowded Downtown' and 'Beautiful Bay' is the evening version of 'Morning Mist Bay'. They have slightly different music themes though.

Let the battle begin!

<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0615.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<b>NOTE: In Arcade mode, if you set all your wireless options in the game on, you will always be sent with invites for online matches. Unless you really want to battle tough competitors and disrupt your Arcade, I suggest you switch them off (can be done before the Arcade matches).</b>

</p>

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Fighter Views + Controls</div><!--h-->
<p align=" " class="none">
<b><u>2D View</b></u>
Like what I've said earlier, SSFIV features 2 fighter modes; 2D View and 3D View. 2D View is basically classic fighter, fighting on a straight plane. 3D View is a more in-depth fighting style and also slightly enhances the 3D effect. In this section, I'll explain the 2D view together with the others.

Controls, well... I don't know how to explain them. Why? Because they're fully customizable. You can assign any button to any move, including the touch screen. SSFIV will show 2 modes of fighting, Lite and Pro. Lite allows you to assign combos using the touchscreen, but pro? As what the name states, it is pro. You need to 100% use buttons to perform combos. To move your fighter, simply use the analog or Plus (or D) Pad. It's that simple, without the need to switch in options.

The below photos show Chun Li and Seth in action (2D View), controls are Lite.

<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0617.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Kikosho!
<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0618.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Shoyuken:
<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0619.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0620.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

You might have noticed: Hey, Shoyuken is Ryu's specialty! How can Seth know? Well, that's one thing I hate about SSFIV. A lot of characters use moves which are repetitive, particularly the Hadoken. Well, there's nothing much you can do about that.

Also, in case you haven't noticed, <b>SSFIV 3D Edition has non-animated backgrounds</b>. What a bummer. If the backgrounds were to be animated, that would be game much more livelier.

<b><u>3D View</b></u>
3D View, as stated earlier, adds more on depth than 2D view. Controls are exactly the same.

It actually focuses more on the character's shoulders. In 3D, this mode actually is quite lifelike - the depth is simply really good.

<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0621.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

However, one horrible downside about 3D view is that <b>you do not really know how far is your opponent away from you</b>. If you rely on punching and kicking, you might get a little fed up. But if you are a hadoken spammer, I suppose it's fine.

Still, I prefer 3D view. If you keep playing in 3D view and suddenly switch back to 2D, trust me, you won't get used to it. It just doesn't have that flair.

<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0623.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
<i>Flash Explosion, Anyone?</i> </p>

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Graphics</div><!--h-->
<p align=" " class="none">
<img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/07/sf43ds72910.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

SSFIV 3D Edition is a launch game developed by capcom, surely it would have standards... won't it?

Well, I would say... Yes. It is quite good.

SSFIV 3D's 2D graphics are quite good. The content is very fluid and there are no noticeable glitches in gameplay. However, compared to games like DOA Dimensions, the 2D isn't as good. But beautiful enough. The moves however, don't really stand out. What do I mean? Let's say when Guile is doing a Flash Explosion, I don't really find it an explosion at all. It is just an ordinary kick in the sky, that kind of feeling.

<u>One thing to take note about 2D</u>: By default, the game runs in 30 fps. If you would like to double it, go to options and disable 3D. The game will now run at a framerate of 60 fps. But to me, I don't find any particular difference. </p>

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">The 3D effect</div><!--h-->
<p align=" " class="none">
<img src="http://videogames.techfresh.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/super-street-fighter-4-3d.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

The 3D effect... How would I describe it? Well, it doesn't really pop out. It just sinks in, giving it a great sense of depth. However, I find it being used very well. As a classic fighter, the aquarium 3D sinks in... and the battle simply looks really realistic. Not caring about the cartoon graphics, it looks like a battle is happening just right outside your window.

It runs at 30 fps, but I find it okay. </p>

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Okay? Now, Tell me about the wireless modes!</div><!--h-->
<p align=" " class="none">SSFIV was one of the earliest 3DS games to feature online play. And I had to say, it is very good. It was smooth and pretty solid. However, if your connection is poor, the game simply starts to lag, which can get kinda annoying. Oh, it supports local play as well.

SSFIV features an arcade figurine mode utilizing the StreetPass feature as well. Well if you'd ask me, nah... I don't really enjoy it. You are only looking at your figurines battle and doing nothing. But through fights like these you can level up your figurines and defeat em all.

<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0625.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Personally, I prefer the StreetPass mode of DOA Dimensions, where you can actually <i>fight</i> the person you met with.

Oh, and you can 'buy' your figurines as well. Haha, getting a high level figurine entirely depends on your luck.

<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0626.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/chris888222/IMG_0627.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> </p>

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Is that all...</div><!--h-->
<p align=" " class="none">Nope! You still have training and minigames/bonus stages! The bonus stages include destroying a car and breaking barrels. Really fun minigames if you'd ask me, especially in the middle of Arcade.

<img src="http://site.video-game-central.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/super_street_fighter_iv_car_bonus_stage.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Training is for those who want to boost their skills. You can learn how to execute combos and everything through the training. </p>

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Overall</div><!--h-->

Overall, SSFIV 3D is a great launch title. Controls are flexible, graphics are decent, and there are a lot of characters to choose from. However, it just really doesn't make you feel the excitement of the fighting. Like what I've said, Flash Kicks just feel like kicks in the sky. Nothing else. Also, moves are constantly repetitive, expect to see at least 5 characters know just a single hadoken or something related (kikoken, tiger shot?)

This game is a great choice overall. You also might want to consider <b><a href="http://gbatemp.net/t300646-fighter-craze-doa-dimensions-review?pid=3764381&st=0&#entry3764381" target="_blank">Dead or Alive: Dimensions</a></b>, a 3D fighter game by Tecno Koei, for a revamped new experience out of your classic single plane fighter. </p>

<b>Overall rating for Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition: 8/10</b>

Wonderful review! My only problem is that the pictures are a bit large, and it would be a bit harder for people with slower internet speeds to view the page. I really do appreciate the pictures, but could you put some of them in spoilers? I would greatly appreciate that.

It would be even better to use the below tag. It resizes the pictures according to the number in the tag.

Anyways, the review is pretty good. I do enjoy the fact that there are a lot of images but the content leaves much to be desired. It would be better if this review was more in-depth.

O_O

Well, I always upload my photos from photobucket. So I just used the tags provided by them.
Thanks for the new tag, will use it in future reviews.

Hmm... My reviews are swaying from description based to image based now? I guess it's time to balance. Tomorrow I'll be doing another and hopefully I'll get everything right.
