Hacking Automatically update an out of region game from eShop: is it possible?

Hello,

I have Luma 8.1.1 with BootStrap9 1.2 on my 3DS (EUR) and installed a JPN game. For this game, the system says that an update is available (this is the banner on the bottom part of the top screen) and if I want to download it, but even if I say yes I can't download it (a message saying an update is required is shown). Is there a way? I'm speaking about "Sega 3D Fukkuoku Archives 3 - FInal Stage": I have the actual cartridge and would like to update.

You have to either find the update in .cia form and install it or see if freeShop has the update. You cannot download out of region game updates on the 3DS.

I could be wrong, but I don't think games on the 3DS can automatically update to begin with (someone correct me if I am wrong.)
Nonetheless, out of region games are going to require you update either using freeShop, CIAngel, or through CIA.

They don't. You still have to accept to install it. Nothing on the 3DS updates automatically except HomeBrews that are programmed to. Unless you count that "witchcraft" where so many people's consoles updated "without pressing A"... Lol

Thanks for confirming that for me ^-^ Sometimes it's the most basic of stuff that leaves me the most stumped.
