So yeah, gonna be very brief about this. I sort of donated my beloved Eee 900, and now i need a new netbook. I've narrowed it down to the 1000HE and the N10. Read a load of reviews, and watched a load of videos.

Main question here, anyone had ANY personal experience with them. Mainly with the speakers, the N10 comes with some with Altec Lansing, most reviews i read suggest headphones, but the point is im not looking for the pitch of the sound. Im looking for the quality. So is the quality any good on both.

My budget is 800$ USD max, but is the N10 worth the extra 300$ or so for the 9300GS that comes with it

?

any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Plus if there are other netbooks within range of my price, i wouldn't mind any suggestions.

Thanks.

the 1005HA is out now, the 1000HA/HE is discontinued

No wonder its so damn cheap, any idea what's added on with the 1005HA? Seems life batt life is improved... as if it wasn't already good enough.

QUOTE(Linkiboy @ Oct 15 2009, 04:26 AM) Some people may have beef with HP, but the price:power ratio in a netbook is probaby the best in the HP 311

The graphics are better than the n10, at a lower price.

HP...

Isn't an asus more durable ?

the big price tag on the n10 seems like its caused from that usueless HDMI port, and basically all the added things you'll never use; but mainly due to that 9300

Either way, all seem like a good choice, i mean lets face it, nothing's perfect, and i want something that's good value for money.

I appreciate all the answers

redesigned
smaller size
better cpu (intel atom N280)
better battery life
new keyboard
new touchpad

The 1005HA-H is comparable to the 1000HE, slightly more battery, but at the cost of having the seashell design that includes a screen with glare.

So pretty much useless, updates, meh, im thinking that the 1005HA is the good way to go, ill do some shopping around tomorrow, im sure ill find a good price.

Thanks for the help.

I've installed it on my own netbook and the boot up time was amazing!!

Look how fast you can get it to boot with just 1gig of ram

The battery life on mine was reduced by about 10-15 minuttes but as you would be getting the eeepc 1005ha you wouldnt really notice it.

And installing is easy if you have an external dvd-drive i assume you know how to do that.

If you dont have a external dvd-drive heres a link on how to create a bootable usb drive.
Thats the only hard part.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that he installed Windows 7 and got it to boot in like 20-30 seconds without some sort of tweaking. If you do tweak, Windows XP on the default install can also boot that fast.

It doesn't matter either way, at least everything works

I have an Eee PC 900HA with Windows 7 Ultimate. Battery life is better than Windows XP actually.

Ok, thanks for the help, i may consider "getting" windows 7 now

any things that don't work, or are all features kept, as in will everything work, pretty much leaning towards for the webcam here.

Thanks again.

Everything works, at least on my 900HA. Though I had to use the Vista ACPI drivers from an eee s101 since asus isn't releasing official drivers until w7 comes out. Though honestly I see no change at all.
