Hacking Arm9 brick question.

Can a Arm9 mod error cause a complete non start? I was on the very last step 2 or 3 steps (all seemed to be going well) and my system faded out, the charge light doesn't stay on past a few minutes and when I power on no screen power up at all, and the blue power light fades when you take your finger off the power button.

I am fairly sure I have a battery or charger problem but I wanted to see if the hack possibly had anything to do with it before I decide on a remedy.

Doesn't sound like a traditional brick to me, but your battery might have died at a crucial point in the process thus creating a brick. I don't really know though.

Do you have arm9loaderhax.bin on the root of your SD/MicroSD? And do you have Custom Firware files on your SD?

I already tried pulling the SD. But I am not getting any start up, no "black or blue" screen and the charge light goes off after being plugged in for a few minutes. I think it's a coincidental battery failure I just wanted to see if anyone seen a mod brick like this before I tried it again.

I mean the "aurei" folder and "arm9loaderhax.bin" from AuReiNand

Remove those links. Everything but the payload is against the rules.

Did you already install Arm9loaderHax or are you about to? If you already installed it, it is supposed to turn off automatically. The only way to turn it on is to have AuReiNand's CFW "arm9loaderhax.bin" on your root. If you don't have that- your 3ds will automatically turn off

1. Press Select on the main menu to eject your SD card
2. Delete AGBSAVE.bin, CTRNAND.bin, TWLN.bin, and TWLP.bin from the root of your SD card
3. Backup every file on your SD card to a folder on your computer, all files will be deleted in the next step
   (if you followed Part 3 of this guide, you can delete the SD card backup from that - this will replace it)
4. Reinsert your SD card into your 3DS.
5. Hold L+Y on boot to launch EmuNAND9
6. Go to "SD Format Options", then "Format SD..."
7. Select the "Format SD Without EmuNAND" option
8. Press Select on the main menu to eject your SD card
9. Put your SD card in your computer, then copy all your files back into it

Actually my cards bare and I had just formatted after backup, I was on step 5.

Glad to help! By the way, it's not your EmuNAND anymore- it's SysNAND. You can delete EmuNAND's random numbered folder in the Nintendo 3DS folder- MAKE SURE YOU DON'T DELETE SYSNAND's folder (or you'll have to recopy it to your SD. By the way, do you have cakes or AuReiNand?

The guide uses cakes but in the final step gives the option of finalizing with Cakes or Aurienand, I am going with Aurie but I am not sure what's displaying at the moment, I am trying to figure out where I am in the guide and what step to revert to since I hadn't finished yet and I am obviously booting from the SD.

1. "Inject CTRNAND Partition" from CTRNAND.bin
2. "Inject AGBSAVE Partition" from AGBSAVE.bin
3. "Inject TWLN Partition" from TWLN.bin
4. "Inject TWLP Partition" from TWLP.bin
