Hi there, My new 3ds has been running with CFW well for a while now with luma installed, however recently i made a serious blunder and accidently removed the SD card from the console while in the middle of a game. The removal caused a crash and corrupted the files on my SD card. However I was able to recover and repair the corrupted partition via the testdisk application. However i also had to repair the file system via the command prompt. And for an extra measure i had reinstalled the latest version of boot.3dsx and boot.firm due to the previous ones being corrupted. I had thought It was solved, however, my 3ds still encounters the ARM11 undefined instruction error upon boot up. I am not sure if I should copy all existing files onto my computer and reformat my card, or if my card itself is doomed. I would upload the crash dumps but when I inspect the Arm11 dumps file in Luma, there isnt any there, unlike what the error message claimed it would save. Thank you for reading and I would appreaciate any form of advice. :}

What happen right now when you press the SELECT button on boot? (And if Luma config menu is shown, can you post a picture?)

I believe/presume that is a problem with the format of the SD card, or possibly your SD card is corrupted/faulty/damaged

thank you for the response! :} -- as of right now it brings up the luma configuration menu, though i am not sure what to do from here.
Do you think a reformatting would be necessary?

Luma is still booting from internal memory, so either something went wrong with the file on the SD card, or the SD card itself is not being read. Make sure that you reformatted your SD card as FAT32 (the 3DS can't read anything else). Worst case scenario, use a new SD card.

You also can follow this post, in order to check for the health of your actual SD card.

  • If still works (all testes are OK) but its content is corrupted after all, then you can reformat it.
  • If test fails, then you must use a new SD card (as was said) and format it adequately.
And then (in any case), you can continue with this tutorial.

Quadruple reformatting worked!! however it seems like some games were corrupted as they crash upon boot, so i'll have to delete and reinstall them. Thank you for all the help everyone, I appreciate it :}

Just make sure to pull the saves on each of those games if you care for them. Reinstalling will overwrite savefiles with new files.
