I'm having trouble getting Scott Pilgrim working, I tried (seemingly) everything, I tried the demo and I got the closest by extracting the Scot Pilgrim files and installing he latest update and it crashes on load. I also tried installing Chessmaster Live DLC and it gave me a broken download error and Bean no longer works for me for some odd reason other stuff works like Rocket Knight, Sonic Adventure and COD Classic.

Everything should work, so no. Your issue is being caused by dashlaunch to counter what may be a failing hdd.
I didn't think a laptop HDD would fail so easily on a non-portable platform. I heard laptop HDDs fail faster because laptops move a lot and if you take that out of the equation, their longevity is better than 3.5in Drives.

That is most likely the problem unless it's corrupted content or bad dashlaunch settings.

xm360v2.0d - run that and scan then unlock xbla and unlock dlc - can be dashlaunch and aurora setting conflict. Highlight game, press y, find tab for dlc and enable content patching and or other settings.

XM360 says the DLC is already unlocked and it still says the DLC is damaged.

Bad sectors on the hdd?
It is a bad sector, I performed a sanity check with sha256

i had a hdd fail in my modded 360. i put a brand new one in there and it faild after only two years. i also have drives iv been using for 10 years plus.

my scot pilgram game is working fine. i was also gonna suggest unlocking the demo, but if its already unlocked i would guess either bad game or drive is beginning to fail.

i think my drive did the same thing at first.... it stopped playing some games then stopped working all together.

unfortunately, that's the nature of the beast. I had an m2 in my original laptop fail in less than two years, so I had to buy another. didn't matter too much as I needed more space. I also had two external hdds full of games fail, so when I would pirate, I would only get games I'd like to play, but it was more for collective and preservation purposes as I never played the games. the internal hdd in my jtag has been going strong for 12+ years now.

At least Spinning rust gives you signs of failure, when SSDs fail, it's sudden and you aren't given a heads up to prepare a replacement.

That's why I consistently make backups of my hdds.
I like optical media, the Disc Rot problem was solved after DVD-RAM and all Blu-rays have that. I wish Streaming HD was adopted 10 years latter than it was so we could get a proper successor to Blu-Ray.

Crashes as in shows an error message then shuts off the system? Also are you using Aurora?
I had an issue awhile back getting Scott Pilgrim to work, but no errors or crashes, it'd just kick back to Aurora. I think it's an Aurora issue (for me)..
But it seems you are having hdd issues? That's a bit different..

I just installed a SSD, resetup the Fusion Emulator, Splinter Cell Works, Chessmaster Live doesn't yell at me for broken install of the Chess Piece DLC, but Scott Pilgrim still doesn't work.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
