The root of the problem (the links themselves) needed to be fixed.

It makes it so anyone who clicks the link sees a clean page with no porn. It's almost like you're trying to convince people NOT to install ABP, which would be strange. I'm trying to give him a tip so he doesn't see ads at all, and you're trying to say I'm some asshole for trying to help him out. You're also arguing a point that I have no power over. OP and Mods have power over that. All I can do is help people until then. And that's that.

It's not a problem on Veho's end.
It's the site linked to. It displays porn ads.

What you're suggesting is nothing different than linking to a porn site and claiming it's alright as long as you have images disabled.

Many people browse with browsers that addon is not compatible with (just because all your friends use Browser X doesn't mean everybody on the planet does), many people browse from work where they can't install stuff, and attempting to fix porn by blocking it per-user after it's posted is the wrong way to go about it, as it leaves the links there.

If you have to make stuff up to defend your stance, you need to reconsider your stance. I never called you an asshole, I'm saying that getting users one by one to install an addon so they don't see porn is the wrong way to approach pornographic links on the forum.

Okay fine, I'm a bad person for trying to help Veho. I already admitted to you that the images were on a strange host, and I'm not trying to say they should stay there, nor have I ever. Hell, he even moved the images to imgur almost 2 hours ago. I was trying to offer a temporary solution.

Your wrong about the colour thing, the AR software detects the shapes first before it looks at the colour. This way you can use grey scale pictures.

Back on topic following the childishness above, nice find OP. How did you find the exact colours? Did you scan the cards or something?
And did anyone get the Samus one working yet?

So back to the topic at hand, The fact that the card can be recognized by color alone is super interesting.
I think there are redundancies in place though because color doesn't always matter either.
At work I drew a card on a white board, and here's a picture I took this afternoon of Kirby on my Kindle.

Maybe we should play around with different colours. If it's all software-based then the 3DS might already be configured to recognise the colour of character cards that may be released in the future. If this is the case (which is unlikely but perhaps worth a try), then we could grab characters ahead of time.

Unless its taking the image and attaching a 3d model to what it most closely recognises, giving the potential for more cards to be added in system updates.

Edit: No more freeze. I think I must have had a card on my monitor or something.
Anyway, for the fun of it, thought I'd mention that with one colour I got both Kirby and Pikmin, although the Pikmin were never solid. They kept popping up and going away. I'll upload the MPO later if anyone wants for teh lulz.

I tried messing with the brightness, and there's no glare right now. :/ Oh well, I'll try again later on a different computer.

Also, if anyone is interested you can find the original cards here and here, probably where the OP found the exact colors used. :3

I had thought that it might be the shapes made by the negative space around the characters that the 3DS recognised. I was going to do some tests on that but haven't got around to it yet.

Edit: Yep, the shape definitely works.
I just made a black and white Samus card.
