Singapore sets a shining example for the world. Chewing gum is illegal.
You never put your hand under the table in high school lest you touch someone's old gum.

Hate that someone's old gum under the table. Disgusting and immature and of course idiot! SMH.

It's a pretty great country. I'm neither.
@The Real Jdbye would agree with me I guess?
Next time you come by, give me a heads up and we can get a beer together hopefully :)

@Costello I'd really like to know, what city in China have you been living in? I've been there a few times now and always assumed you're too busy to meet me IRL.

He's French ;)
It's definitely not without its issues, no country is perfect. I don't think I would want to live there, primarily for 2 reasons, one being it's too damn hot, and the other being that I don't have much family there (well none except for my dad and my youngest brother), I do love visiting though. The food is great, there's a lot to see (although by now I have seen it all multiple times) and it's just nice to get away and not have to worry about anything for a while.
But compared to China, from what I've seen of YouTube videos from people that live there it's a clear upgrade. People are friendlier, everyone generally speaks English (although many speak it badly), and you don't have to worry about some of the things that are an issue in China, such as fake food, and also other types of scams seem to be pretty common there as well, but fake food is obviously the worst since it can be a health risk.

Cool!

So he is in France but wants to live there ? Go for it. :)

And you should live there (air conditioning and swimming ;)) since your dad and your youngest brother are t here. Healthcare and good food are better than here in America.. a lot of fake food and healthcare are bad here.

He lives in Shanghai, China like he said. He moved there a few years ago.
I live in Norway, we have good healthcare already, and in Singapore health care can get really expensive. At the hospital they charge for the rooms, the food, everything, and charge extra if you want a room with air conditioning. Maybe that would all be covered by health insurance but still. Here I don't need health insurance. But I will admit the food there is way better and also much cheaper. One of the big problems with Norway is how expensive everything is, and I can barely afford to live here.

Interesting. What do you mean you don't need health insurance ?

Welcome to Singapore Costello. Not sure if its the best country since this is only my 2nd country to live for, but in regards to food, safety, convenience in transportation, and salary wise i love it here. I am not a local here either and just here for work. Staying here since 2012.

mind I ask, what's ur job? it seems you have a such wonderful life to change places to live at ur desire :P
I am kind of a freelance software developer... I do have some "strings attached", but not to a particular location.

thanks man :) I would love to meet up with some people who know the place well. I tend to hang out with french people only (I have a lot of french friends who live here), but it is not a good attitude. One of the thing I love most about Singapore is its multiculturalism. Last week I made random friends who had Indian and Pakistanese origins, they were so nice.

Guess you can live everywhere, as long as your Wife is willing to move around the World with you.:)
exactly... wife being chinese, it isnt hard moving to Singapore where 70% of the people there are of Chinese ethnicity, language, and culture (although they aren't technically Chinese)

Do you watch serpentza on youtube? He talks a lot about white monkeys (thats not racist it's their term when companies hire foreigners to attract attention for businesses) and how chinese view the rest of the world.

Also curious, in 2017 i was involved with a lot of steam refunds for virtual reality titles also scraped alot of vr releases from chinese QQ groups for another forum. I began to notice a lot of vr developers were mostly in china it seemed like it was vr capital of the world. Do you see that trend still there? Lastly curious, in the 80's and 90's China and Russia was notoriously stereotyped as elite hackers, corporate and military wise. Media and pretty much every game like Command & Conquer.

Was that just a myth? Because even though I know chinese have forums for their PS4 shares from last year. There seems to be 0 development from them to reverse engineer the console. Even reading on russian forums their attitude is all reliant on a certain ps hax english speaking community.

I do not watch this guy no

As far as I know for a long time regular consoles were banned from China and you could only buy them imported (from HK). Only recently did main manufacturers such as Sony, MS, Nintendo, start selling in the Mainland. The culture here is people play a lot but it's on PC and cell phones most of the time. So it isnt surprising that there isnt much going on in the PS4 hacking scene. I could be wrong, I don't explore the chinese web much.
